Robin Buckley, keyboardist and lead singer of Tammy's Flowers, popular local pop band, is trying to move on after a heartbreak. Thankfully, she has her friends, her band, and her best friend to cheer her up.
Steve Harrington is known for three things: his voluminous hair, his flirting skills, and his incessant support for Tammy's Flowers, despite his hatred for the name. Hideout staff nicknamed him as "overly supportive boyfriend".
Eddie Munson is a busy man: plays with his band three times a week, then they practice, he writes music, works at the local game store and, when he gets free time, he spends it with his uncle. In his busy schedule, there's no time for pining after cute boys, especially those who are taken.
Nancy Wheeler, ex-journalist, has only one goal set on her mind: be the best manager Corroded Coffin has ever had and bring them to success. She has managed to get them a place in the most popular bar in the local scene: the Hideout. She just needs to make sure they stand a chance playing after the beloved Tammy's Flowers.

The Incident
“Eddie Munson, you’re going to prison,”
Eddie buries his head in his hands and groans as Robin moves his little boot to the ‘In Jail’ square, giving him a shit-eating grin as she does so. Steve tries to hide his smug look by feigning a cough, but Eddie catches his straight away.
“Damn, the game of capitalism targeting the lower-class gay guy, wow,” he rolls his eyes in mock annoyance, “Funny how Stevie hasn’t been sent to jail yet, huh?”
“Eds, come off it, it’s a board game. A game of chance!” Nancy laughs as she picks up the dice for her turn.
Nancy huffs as she gets caught in Robin’s row of red properties, forking out colourful bills to a very pleased Robin. Taking her money from a nearly bankrupt Nancy, Robin melodramatically flourishes her hand at Eddie.
“What can I say, Edward; capitalism is a game, and I am winning it,”
Eddie tapped his chin in thought, “What if - hypothetically - I staged a prison break and escaped to Connecticut Avenue,” he proposes.
Steve furrows his brow, “Eds, this isn’t DnD, you can’t just-“
“If you roll two sixes I’ll let you do it,” Nancy grins, that old flair DnD peeking through.
“What?! But- you can’t-“ Steve splutters, looking to Robin for support. She just shrugs and sits back, content with her fake multicolour fortune.
“I meannn,” Eddie mirths, “Nancy’s the banker, which is like, the closest thing to a DM, so it’s her call,”
Steve reluctantly gives in and Eddie scoops up the dice, chuckling as he does so.
“Watch it Stevie; you’re about to witness the most epic Monopoly prison break you’ll ever see,” he says as he shakes the dice. He releases them from his cupped palms and they roll accross the board. Both land with six dots facing up.
“No fucking way!” Robin exclaims, and Nancy and Eddie burst out into hysterical laughter. Steve protests, but Eddie’s already grabbed his little shoe and moved it out of the jail square.
“Wha- no, that’s not how monopoly works!”
“Ah, well, Nancy said it counts,” Eddie winks.
They go around the board a few more times, until Steve gets caught in Robin’s properties too and goes completely bankrupt. Robin hunches over laughing, wiping a tear from her eye.
“Screw this,” Steve sits back on the couch and crosses his arms, “we’re not playing monopoly anymore,”
They wrap up the game, Robin gratefully - though certainly not modestly - accepts her title as Monopoly Champion Forever, and Nancy teases that Robin betrayed her, claiming that, “you should have given me a discount, Robbie, I thought you loved me,” This leads to a dramatic gasp from Robin and a very cuddly Nancy for the rest of the night. The group opt instead to watch a movie (the perfect opportunity to cuddle up with their respective partners).
“That was eventful,” Robin says as she gets up to leave with Nancy once the movie ends.
“Yep. Never again. Monopoly is forbidden,” Steve shakes his head.

Hey, I’ve just posted my first work on Ao3! (the prologue of a series I’ve been working on for a little bit). Also planning to post all of my Ronancetober works on there as a series if anyone would be interested in that! :)
Summary:
She stood there, frozen. Almost as if she was waiting for Robin to move. Letting the reality seep in like the blood that had pooled around Robin’s body.
“Robs? Robin, come on, say something,” she took a staggering step towards her. She knew it as soon as she saw her eyes.
genuinely will never get over robin saying with such conviction “nancy wheeler is such a priss” and then after two days of knowing her she’s like “you heard nance” she is backing her up she is giving her nicknames she is literally getting down on her knee for her after two days of talking
Ok ok ok so how about Nancy knowing Robin gets anxious about whether she’s talking too much but equally wants to info dump about her special interests all the time, so she purposefully starts bringing up Rob’s special interests and current hyperfixations just so she can talk about them without feeling like she’s derailing to conversation.
Like one night while they’re out with the rest of the Spicy Six™️ Robin seems a bit fidgety and uncomfortable so Nancy just casually says:
“Hey, Rob? What was it you were telling me about Ancient Greek and Latin the other day? Like about the etymology or something-?”
And she just watches as Robin comes into herself again, rambling on about her language knowledge and ancient civilisations, and Nancy is just lovestruck. Like full-on heart eyes, dreamy sighs and dopey smiles. And if one of the group tries to stop Robin before she’s done Nancy glares. Seeing Robin so happy and enthusiastic as she moves her hands around while she talks and taps her feet under the table had Nancy completely enthralled by this dorky, intelligent, beautiful girl.
Sometimes Robin still catches herself when she’s rambling, and will ask Nancy quietly, “Nance, am I talking too much?”
