Wild Harvesting

Wild harvesting is not new. It's as old as time. It involves going out into nature and finding the bounty. And there are an incredible amount of things to be found if one knows how and where to look. That's what this blog is intended to provide - a little guidance on what's out there and what to do with it when you find it. 

We are surrounded by free organic food, textiles, dyes, crafting supplies, and so on and so on. They just need to be harvested.

Every season brings with it new "products" to be foraged. At the moment there are cattails, milkweed, mushrooms and butterflies abounding. But as with any harvest, time is of the essence - the products will be gone before you know it. So collect them while you can, preserve them for use during the off-season, and find new ways to use them. All you have to do is step outside. Step away from the computer and get to getting.
