Yard plants and things.
Pictures from my garden. I got like 10 mosquito bites doing it but the tea I drink heals them in like 2 hrs. It’s pretty awesome. I can’t believe I am where I am today in my garden journey. It’s wild how much things change who you are when you invest yourself in your own education. I didn’t realize I was the type of person who needed to study and research before I do things (only when I feel passionate about things… like gardening) until recently and it’s been fun to lean into gardening as a hobby. It’s my fun time.
I planted dandelions and plantain today. Two plants that five years ago I considered close to evil and now I’m actively planting them. Wild how the world changes.
Garden tour. Just bits
It doesn’t look like much but I hope one day I can create a woodland oasis in this back corner. It’s perfect and beautiful.
This is wildwood my garden space I’ve been creating the last few years. It’s a work in progress and keeps getting bigger.
This is the south east side of wildwood. There’s a tomato circle with the medicine herb garden in the center but my obleisks need to be fixed so it’s hard to see.
There’s also the blueberry barrels and if you see the tarp it’s going to be melons and cucumbers.
This is the herb spiral, strawberry rows (surrounded by pink) with flower gardens on the outside. Rhubarb under the old greenhouse frame. Raspberries lining the back fence.
This time the tarp holds water for all the frogs and dragon flies into I get my pond up and going.
I love my backyard.
It looks like nothing. But this is the bed I cleaned up first. It has so many things coming in. I can’t wait to see it in a couple months.
This is Bloomveil my cut flower garden. It went from a pile of weeds to a mulched garden bed with so much potential in the last 12 months. I has dahlias and cone flowers and larkspur. And more I just don’t remember what all is in there. We will find out!
The garden bed I’m currently working on weeding, remulching, dividing/transplanting. It’s gonna be a while. Each plant I have to check to see what it is, if it should stay or go, and if I should move it or leave it… so many weeds. So many plants.
My current gardening playlist. It’s a bit short but it’s a bop.
Lately my work outside consists of weeding, refreshing mulch, and transplanting plants that are taking over my first garden bed (because I like to do this thing where I throw seeds at stuff and see what happens… I do NOT recommend) …
Now I have self seeders and spreaders that are taking over. So slowly moving them places where they can be contained or where they can spread freely without abandon.
Today was larkspur, cone flowers, cat mint, bee balm and primrose. Which I didn’t realize primrose takes two years and then seeds again. So… that’s interesting.
My favorite part is learning about all the plants that I’ve had grown in my yard unknowingly and finding out how to make them grow in their fullness and where they belong. It’s pretty amazing.
my gardens that i'm working on creating... everything is mapped out... but not everything is cleaned up and built out or planted.... it makes me happy.
The first daffodils to pop up. 🌼
Tulips popping up.

Golden hour beauty in the garden.
