Installation for open house at my studio, The Yawn Shop, in Portland OR, fall 2013.

Ideas of dumbness, ignorance, immaturity, delinquency, playfulness, outsider art, pop culture, fallout of influence from the 'beautiful loser' generation, beer, rap, modernist composition, doodling as high art, and my unrequited love affair with skateboarding as I enter legitamate adulthood have been major themes as of late.  As a result I'm loving painting more than I have in years.

This was the cornerstone piece of my under-graduate thesis series entitled "Float". All imagery in the series was sourced by myself and my point and shoot camera.  I've been struggling with making less-snobbish art ever since.
