The world was on fire and no one could save me but you. It’s strange what desire will make foolish people do. I never dreamed that I'd need somebody like you. I never dreamed that I'd know somebody like you. And I wanna fall in love. And I wanna fall in love with you. With you. What a wicked game you play, you make me feel this way. What a wicked thing to do, make me dream of you. What a wicked thing to say, never felt that way. What a wicked thing to do, make me dream of you.

So Much for Plan A || Alys & William
Finally, nightfall had come. William had traveled across the continent to come to the small town of Oxford, Mississippi after feeling the death of his latest progeny, a man named Andrew. He'd been a good enough progeny; followed orders without the usual attitude that he'd gotten over the years from the long line of people he'd turned to do his bidding. Andrew had gotten it. He'd been given the gift of eternal life, he should - in turn - pay back the gift he'd been given by service to his maker. So when William had felt the death of this progeny, he'd almost been sad... almost.
Not being too much of a fan of airplanes, William had traveled on foot, which meant it had taken quite a few nights to get from Washington state to Mississippi. But now that he had arrived, he was ripe to get his business taken care of and get the hell out. He didn't do well in small town situations.
Andrew hadn't checked in with him in nearly a month, and so William wasn't exactly sure on the whereabouts of a certain Princess that William wanted to avoid. Sure that Andrew wouldn't be so stupid as to get close enough to Alys that she might see him, he'd strolled right on into town, headed for the place he'd felt his progeny died at the hand of Kol Svansson.
He'd stopped in the middle of the woods though after catching a familiar scent. Even after all of these years, he could still easily place Alys. And her scent was everywhere. Was Andrew that stupid? Was William walking right into what he'd spent nearly nine hundred years trying to avoid?
Not only had he walked into it, but it was far too late to undo it this time. For as he glanced about him, his eyes landed on her. Alys Henry. She was a ways down the forest from her; and normally he would have turned and tried to run before she saw him, but it was too late. Those eyes of hers - the ones he'd missed so desperately - were on him, and even from as far apart as they were, he could see the recognition and realization in her eyes.
"Fuck," he muttered to himself. For someone who was a strategist, who was always prepared with plans A-F, he was suddenly stricken and unable to move. It'd been so long since he'd laid eyes on her. And despite being a vastly different person than the human who'd fallen in love with her; he still did. He loved her. Every fiber of his being called out for her. But as she started towards him, the part of him that remembered why he'd stayed away kicked in. After taking one last glance at her, he turned on his heel and took off running, hoping beyond hope that she wouldn't give chase.
Trouble seems, trouble seems to follow you. It's always 'round you like some thing you subscribe to. Be prepared, there must be something in you Turning boys to men and then back again.

Personality
There are two very different versions of William Talvas. The human that he was so many years ago was a kind, compassionate man. While his name would never be written in history books near any big events, he lived his life in a way that he thought would benefit others. He was a fair and level-headed man. He knew that most in his position could be cruel and unfair to those who looked to them for guidance, but William never saw need to live this way. He wasn’t the most powerful or influential man of his time, but he was known to be a good man.
Especially to those closest to him. William was a loyal and devoted man. If someone he respected or loved asked him to jump, he’d respond with ‘how high?’. He was a man who would bend over backward to make the people he loved happy. And this was best shown in the way that he handled his marriage to Alys Henry. Despite the arranged nature, and his uncertainty of how she felt for him, William was a loyal and loving husband.
But, after being turned, and after leaning that the wife he’d loved and fought for had abandoned everything behind her, something broke inside the fledgling vampire. Even though he knew that his feelings for her had probably always outweighed her feelings for him, it was still all he could do to hold together the strains of his sanity.
But then he found his reason for living: Killing. He became a full fledged murderer. And with each kill, he reached a new high. It came to a point where all that made him feel alive was the thrill of the kill. Hunting, stalking, and taking down anything he wanted to taste. He handles most situations with the mind of a hunter, looking at things objectively and without emotion. Now, this isn’t to say he’s done what most vampires do in simply turning off their emotions, he feels every single emotion anyone else might; but he simply revels in the feeling of being downright evil.
Biography
Born to John I, Count of Ponthieu and Beatrice de St Pol, William had an easy life. He was always provided for, had everything he asked for. But he was also one of the rare court children who didn’t allow this silver platter lifestyle change who he was as a person. He believed in kindness above all else, in service to those who looked to him for leadership. And he believed in taking up arms to defend those closest to him. Not only was he a skilled warrior, but he was a talented strategist, which was what would eventually land him his role as an army commander.
William was aware of his status among his people and the rest of the world, but that didn’t mean he was always up to date on what that entailed. There were a lot of things going on in his world that he wasn’t aware of. And this was brought to the forefront of his attention when he was pulled aside by his father one evening and told that his wife would be arriving soon. A marriage had been arranged, and there was nothing to be done about it. William was (at first) reluctant to the idea. After all, he knew nothing about this woman besides the rumors that swirled around her. He’d never been one to partake of castle gossip, but it was hard not to hear it once the day drew near for her arrival.
But as soon as William landed eyes on Alys, he knew he was in love. It was only days until they were wed, and William proved to be great at another thing. Being a husband. Alys wanted for nothing (that she told him anyway). He was loyal, loving, and kind. William kept his deep feelings for his wife hidden. He doted on her, and was beyond loyal and protective of her; but he never felt that she returned the depth of feeling. Afraid to find out that she didn’t return the feelings, he stayed quiet And that always seemed to be enough. He allowed his love to be poured on their daughter, Marie.
But his life was completely altered when, despite his best fight and strategy, his home was overtaken. All who stood in the English’s way were slaughtered - servants, guards, and royals alike. William fought with every ounce of strength to protect his home and his family, but it was to no avail. He died still clutching his sword in hand.
Or so he thought. He woke the next evening, buried in the ground. After clawing his way out of his grave, he found a man waiting beside the freshly upturned soil. He introduced himself and told William that he’d been made Vampire, and that he would live forever.
His first thoughts were of Alys, of their child, and all those who he’d watched die. He rushed back, only to be pulled out of sight just in time to watch the Englishmen who’d overtaken his home carrying out the bodies of the guards who’d fought alongside him, the servants he’d come to know as family, and the rest of the royal court who had resided in his home. When he saw his daughter’s body, he wondered how he was supposed to go on. But then the man who’d saved him pointed out that his wive’s body was not among the pile of dead. She, too, had been made vampire.
William dedicated himself to tracking down his wife. Following his Makers direction, he easily found a grip on the insatiable hunger inside him, and set out across the land to track his wife.
It was a few years later that he finally came across her. She was even more beautiful than he remembered. But despite the warmth seeing her alive and well brought him, it was knocked out by the pain that overtook him to see her so happy in the arms of another man. While he’d known that Alys had never given her heart to him like he’d (secretly) given his, it still pained him. At first he was angry, then he was melancholy. But then, he realized something. He’d always let his love for her take the back burner in order to keep her happy and comfortable. If this man that had made Vampire of her had found a way to keep her happy, who was he to destroy that happiness?
Instead, he let the love he’d never express twist and turn his once golden heart into one of darkness and hatred. He knew he could never have the love he wanted, and so he vowed that he would never allow her to know him as vampire. Never would she see the evil and corrupt man that this second life had made of him. And so, he turned his own progeny. Without getting to know or attaching to this new vampire, he tasked the baby with following his former wife. He never wanted to know anything about her or her companion; only to know where they were currently located so he could be sure to stay on the opposite side of the continent.
That progeny met it’s demise, and William turned another to replace him. This cycle continued endlessly, William having had an uncounted amount of progeny - but ones he simply viewed as pawns in his plot to stay away from his love and her new man.
This was what led him to Oxford. Upon finding out that his progeny had met the True Death by the hand of Vampire Sheriff Kol Svansson, William has turned up to find his progeny’s last notes on his location of Alys so that his new progeny could pick up where that trail left off. He’s unaware just how close his progeny had decided to stay.
