William smiled dopily up at Edward, cradling his quarters to his chest. There was nothing like a sweet pet name to get William compliant. âYeah, youâre right. Iâll need to do laundry again soonâŚ,â he trailed off, dropping the sock into the basket on top of all the folded clothes. âMmm, maybe lime. They have those right?â William asked, looping one arm over the side of Edwardâs shoulder quickly so he could drop a small kiss halfway over his mouth. As soon as he did it, he realized it felt more serious than their casual relationship and dropped back down flat on his feet. âThanks for coming. And folding,â William cleared his throat. Usually he was good about keeping the affection strictly to when they were actually hooking up. Kisses stayed casual when they were only a means to another end. But when they were like this.. kisses just for the sake of kisses, they meant more. He hoped Edward didnât read too much into it. âHere, youâve done more than enough today. Iâll carry my own things,â he told Edward, holding out his hands for the basket.Â
âThink so. I also think youâre the only person I know who likes lime,â Edward told him, his tone light and teasing. Edwardâs eyebrows only raised for a second during Williamâs kiss. His eyes then drooped as he watched Williamâs lips pull away. Everything in him wanted to chase the kiss; to kiss William full on in the middle of the laundromat. But he knew what that could do, what it could reveal, so he just stared longingly, wishing things were different. âAnytime,â Edward smiled softly, eyes flitting up from Williamâs lips. Before he could talk himself out of it, Edward pressed his lips against Williamâs forehead, then stepped back. âIâve got it,â he said as he pulled the basket closer to him. âYouâve got to carry all the tattoos and ring pops.â
âLeave me alone. I like it. Yâknow when I like it even more, though? When you put it in a coconut and mix it all up,â William told him solemnly, resisting the urge to break out into song. William sucked in a quick, surprised breath when Edward kissed his forehead. His eyes fluttered shut on their own accord and he relished in the fleeting moment. His open, waiting hands stayed delayed in the air for a few more moments as his brain processed what Edward said before finally dropping back down by his sides. âYeah,â he said, voice quiet. âUh, yeah. I mean... Iâm not going to fight you on it. If you want to do all the heavy lifting, Iâll be more than happy to just watch,â he teased, thankful he was able to laugh again and shake himself out of the pining moment. âHere, lets go get our treats.â William turned and walked to the little area next to the front door, bending down to examine the offerings.Â

âItâs the only game I know that involves quarters,â William explained gloomily, gesturing to the tube sock full of quarters next to him. âAnd I bring so many.â He finally hopped down to the ground and made his way over to the basket to help Edward with his own laundry. âThatâs why I like you so much, yâknow. Not many people can find themselves a man to play quarters with in a sketchy laundromat,â he smiled at Edward as he pulled a handful of clothes out of the basket to fold messily. âAfter weâre done, you can get a handful of that runts candy or a temporary tattoo, my treat. Iâve got loads of quarters left and they have those little dispensers up front.âÂ
âThatâs why, huh?â Edward hummed, his hands folding a pair of briefs. They were definitely his own but he piled them on top of Williamâs pairs anyway. Edward watched William fold for a few seconds before intervening. Whatever William put down, Edward refolded quickly, hoping William wouldnât notice or get offended. âOh, a temp tattoo. Guess I can put it on this arm, yeah?â he nodded towards his bare arm. âLetâs get matching ones. Thatâd be sick.âÂ
âMhmm,â William nodded sweetly, eyeing Edwardâs work. The basket was nearly empty by that point so William gave up on folding anything substantial and focused on purposely grouping mismatching socks. âWait, yes. Can we really do that? Weâre doing it,â William laughed, turning to grab his sock full of quarters. âSo... I say we spend my whole sock on tattoos to give you a sleeve for this one,â he said, briefly grabbing the arm Edward pointed out. âAnd me some matching ones. And a ring pop. I would die for a ring pop.âÂ

William sat cross legged on top of the machine, elbows on his knees and his chin in his palm, watching the person across from him. âThanks for coming with me,â he said again before letting out a breath long enough to try and move the fringe from his eyelashes. âIâm usually pretty bored here by myself. Sometimes I try to make friends, but nobodyâs really interested when doing their laundry. âm not sure why.âÂ
âNo problem,â Edward smiled before picking up a basket of freshly washed laundry. âIâm a big fan of folding,â he said, placing the basket on top of table that was across from the machine. âTheir loss. Maybe theyâre not sure how to start a conversation in a laundromat. I mean, what do you even say besides âHiâ? âWashing your underwear today?â,â Edward made a face, hands busy folding one of Williamâs shirts. âI guess if they respond to that, though, then theyâre good company.â
William scooted closer to the edge and let his legs hang over, making it look as if he was about to hop down and help fold his own laundry. But he stayed where he was and shrugged. âI asked this guy once if he wanted to play that game where you hit each others knuckles with quarters,â he sulked. âHe rejected me.â William eyed the basket in front of Edward and shrugged. âYou know, I bet youâll find some of your own clothes in there. I guess itâs good you decided to come with me.âÂ

âI donât understand the whole âcold brewâ hype,â Sky frowned, squinting up at the coffee shopâs menu. âLike, I feel like people donât even really like it? They just get it because itâs âinâ,â she quoted the air. âI kinda wanna try one, thoughâŚâ
William let out an incredibly extended breath of air before smacking his lips loudly. âUhh, yeah. Can you order me an apple juice? Itâs not on the menu, but sometimes they have some back there. Iâve tried before,â he told his twin sister.
William rolled his eyes and looked around him for the nearest thing available to throw at Edward. When he came up short, he just scoffed loudly. âI was trying to be all sweet to you, but fine,â he laughed. âWrite your nasty songs, but donât get yourself too excited over there.â William rolled up one of his sleeves and held his arm out. âDoes it look like Iâve lost some of my tan already?â he asked with a pout. âDonât remind me, please, Iâm trying to stay ignorant to it all.âÂ

William held his tea mug against his lips with his free hand, but didnât drink any, too focused on Edwardâs sudden bashfulness. âWell, if that look on your face is anything to go by, your songâs going to be as sweet as that title.â He set his mug back down and shrugged. âIt was fine. Lots of reading and office work today. I missed the sunshine.âÂ
âDo you think âbaby honeyâ is a good name for a song?â Edward asked as he looked up from his journal. âIt doesnât sound clunky on the tongue, does it?âÂ
William leant his head against his hand and watched Edward warmly. âNo, I like it,â he said softly, smiling. âDouble pet name, though. Whoa. Someoneâs got you feeling some lovinâ way.âÂ

âNo jokes here, bucko. Only Smash Mouth stans,â William said, locking his phone to hide the fact that heâd once spent hours creating a playlist of songs to play around Edward to annoy him. âPretty roomy, huh? You sound familiar,â he laughed and wiggled his eyebrows. âBring all the boys there, do you?â William rolled down the window so that his hair would blow around in the wind, baring his teeth in a smile and ignoring the AC in the car.Â
âI donât know how you put up with the songs I write since they clearly donât compare to this,â Edward gestured to the speakers. Edward laughed a bit and shook his head. âI would say âyesâ to sound cooler, but honestly I hang out in there when I feel nervous,â he admitted, clearing his throat. âYou being there definitely will help with the nerves, thoughâÂ
âItâs the singer,â William told him. âHeâs pretty hot. Mr. Smashmouth does nothing for me.â He cooed and patted Edwardâs thigh. âPoor baby. Youâve got nothing to be nervous about. You make every crowd you encounter fall in love with you. Itâs a tough life being a heart throb, huh,â William teased, but shook his head. âIâll hold your hand before the show, though.âÂ
sorry if it seems like i want attention i just want attention

âOh, wait, youâll like this,â William smiled and took the offered cord. âI found this cool band.. super small and underground, but really good. Here, listen,â he said before clicking to start All Star. âIs there a backstage Iâm invited to or is it just a store room for all their limes and olives? Either way, I expect the full groupie treatment with a little grope before the show,â he teased.Â
Edwardâs brows perked up in interest, but his expression quickly changed as the first few notes of the song played. âVery funny,â he muttered, trying to fight back a smile. âItâs just a storeroom, but itâs pretty roomy,â Edward glanced over at William, a smirk now on his face. âLittle grope before the show,â he repeated with a nod. âYou got it. Now Iâm really looking forward to performing.âÂ

âDonât know why I thought taking a morning shift was a good idea. Thereâs no one here and yet the sun is shining and Iâm stuck inside.â Kate sighed, cleaning the same glass for the tenth time that day.
âI honestly didnât even know this place existed in the daylight..,â William told her, looking around. âDo you serve coffee or tea? Thatâs what Iâm in search of.âÂ
