if the odyssey was not the odyssey and it was just some original concept nolan came up with then that would be one thing, but the fact that it is a pioneering epic that has been faithfully adapted to both stage and screen before makes any future adaptation culpable to intense scrutiny and nolan's just doesn't hold up, nor does it keep with the source material (didn't see it, didn't read it but I am fairly certain of my assumptions)
