the bell above the door jingles to announce a new customer and the woman behind the cash register counter at the front looks up from her book -- an old tome, probably too old to even be legible -- and rises from her stool.

" welcome! thanks for coming! " she greets, putting on her best customer-service smile and voice. " we're having our end-of-summer sale on dried herbs today. they're all on that far wall. otherwise, let me know if i can help you find anything specific. "

it's near midnight when she's pulled from her slumber by a knocking at her door. craine beats her to it and stands at the threshold, hissing his displeasure at whoever stands on the other side. apprehension fills her veins with ice -- wyatt's away, still out at the broken saddle with cass, probably.

still, she creeps closer to the door, praying none of wyatt's enemies lay in wait for her on the other side. she peers through the peephole to find quinn moore in distress on the front porch.

willow shoos craine away from the door and hurriedly unlocks the deadbolt, swinging the door open and ushering quinn inside. she helps the other to the nearest living room couch. " jesus, quinn, are you okay? what are you doin' all the way out here? is jeremy okay? "
