“Really? That’s your plan? Getting the creatures that can smell blood from miles to eat sugar right in front of their faces while they are diabetic?” Miles scratched his head while basically murmuring to the wind. Watching Will have one of those apples and getting a closer look at them, deciding not to do the same and stepping back. “Can I call you snow white now?” He teased with a chuckle. “Not just cause of the apples, but also cause I know you like the Snow White theory… why having just one when you can take seven all at once, right Will?” Miles had Will as his friend, they were together on the fight against some awfull masters and had quite a few things in common which led them to get the friendship going pretty well. He was happy for that. “But yeah, I’m actually happy I wasn’t sent to the pit, I would probably be killed there cause I don’t feel like fighting at all.”
“Diabetes is no joke. There was a kid in my school who almost died one day. They even cancelled classes.” Will was talking in hushed tones, but still trying to pay attention to whether any masters were in earshot. Talking shit about them is fun, but getting caught and punished for it, not so much. He took another bite of the apple before discreetly tossing it to the ground and kicking it under a booth so that nobody would notice it. “I wouldn’t do too bad in the pits. At least for the first fight or so.” Back when all hell broke loose, Will’s dad taught him some basic self-defense. Not that it would matter much against the unnaturally fast and strong creatures, but unfortunately they weren’t the only threat at first, so he had to defend himself from other humans as well, if it came down to it. A kick to the groin, then a knee in their face and run like hell. That was about all Will knew of fighting.
