TIL: Final Evaluation
For our first day on this project we had to find a minimum of 9 images from artists, architects or from history which explore diverse approaches to ‘towers’, ‘structures’ ‘stacking’ – some could be art, some could be drawings, some could be from films/games and some from real life locations.
we then had to write 5 words that describe each image under each. but the artist who inspired me the most through out the project was Sebastian Luca, i like how his work is very fantasy/futuristic like.
For then 2nd task we had to create our own towers from items we could find around my house an garden in totally i made 4 different structures but only ended up doing 2 of the ones i made. I then took photos of my towers from all different angles and using different lightings to get the look of size.
For the 4th task i used the photographs i took to develop a series of drawings. i made 10 drawings in total, 5 for each structure and i did 3 detailed drawings and the rest were quick drawings.
for my final outcomes i decided to make 2 final pieces, i ended up using photoshop for both outcomes. for the first one i took all my detailed drawings and made a little village buy cutting them out then transferring them i also had to duplicate one of the drawings again. The second outcome turned out to be difficult to make as I'm not used to using photoshop and im just not good at using it but this didn't stop me after a few tutorial videos i was able to work it out a little. so finally getting the gist of it i uploaded a photo i took on one of my walks as a background i then cut out the lamp adding it to the background, it looked out of place so i decided to cut a bit of the ground and placing it above the bottom of the lamp. after i done that i downloaded a few pictures that being a staircase, window, swing and a wind turbine. Then adding those to the picture, after that i just tried to blend it all together and played around with effects.
in total this was an alright project i wish we had more time on it as i didn't get as much work done as i wanted to but besides that it was fun making sculptures something i would like to try again.
Here are a few more like the other one i uploaded i decided not to use this one there was no particular reason why i didn't i just chose to do the other ones.
these are some more photos of structures i made for towers in lockdown but i decided not to use them in the end but i would upload anyways :)

For the second day of this project after i found artist to search i then had to Use solid objects available to me in my home/shed/garage which could be stacked up to form towers. Build them raised up on anything we could use like for this i used
- a lamp
-books
I then had to take photos of my towers from all different angles such as below the structure, the side and above it was also suggested to try taking the pictures with flash so i did this i also turned off the lights and put a grayscale filter on while taking the photos.
For the 4th task i used the photographs i took to develop a series of drawings. The max of drawing we had to create were 10 quick drawings but i ended up doing 1 detailed ones and 4 quickly drawn ones.

Final Evaluation
The project started with us being provided with penguin classics books, Which gave a place where we could to start our project. My book was called the tinder box but it also had other little stories in the book such as little Claus & big Claus, the princess on the pea, the steadfast tin soldier, the nightingale and the red shoes.
For the first lesson we had to pick a few words from the book to focus on then we then had to go into more detail what the words could mean. Going through the book i highlighted a few words, the words being Death, Dreams, Witch and Garden, after going into more detail about them we had to start to pick and start making collages to go with them. I then went on to produced 2 collages each for death and dreams. For the next 2 days of college, I had to transfer my collages onto the computer then started to digitalize them by adding words in different fonts and then on Thursday we had to do a minimum of 2 layered illustrations each with 3 layers of tracing paper, based on the concept of parallel universe/ multiverse/mirror worlds. I decided to look up some people for inspiration for my work and i came across Tang Kwok Hin and Brooks Salzwedel, i really like how they did their art by creating weird yet beautiful apocalyptic looking art, so going of their work For the first illustration i decided to base it on a parallel universe in which the world started to break and fall apart and some of the parts that would have broken would start to float for unknown reasons and for the second illustration i did in this parallel universe its similar to the turtle with an island on its back but instead, a snake and how it works is that when the snake is coiled up and goes to sleep it creates the island and the spirits can come out but when the snake is awake and uncoils itself and move the spirits go back into the shrines and sleep and the island it actually all along its body but becomes a whole once coiled up.
Throughout the project, i only focused on a few of the stories in the book them being the tinder box, the nightingale were the main two i used but i also used a few quotes from the other stories.
For the next week couple of weeks, i had to pick another few words or sentences.I choose 3 quotes 2 witch where from1 story and the other was from another little story in the penguin book.
-” angel of god in the white robes” The red shoes by Hans Christian Andersen
-” In the garden, you could see the most wonderous flowers” The Nightingale by Hans Christian Andersen
-” is there such a bird in my empire” The Nightingale by Hans Christian Andersen
After picking the words or sentences we then had to draw them out in whatever font we wanted then draw something to go with them.
And in the next session, we write down the quotes we chose from our little books and had to write it big after that we cut it into strips and reorders and changed them round we make up some sort of language or code.
In the next session, we had to pick another couple of quotes out of our classic penguin book. Both the ones I picked wherefrom the nightingale storey I reused the quote "is there such a bird in my empire" and the other quote I chose out of the book was at the start on the first page just something about that sentence and how it was written I couldn't help but use it stood out to me. "The forest went right down to the sea, which was deep and blue. Great ships could sail right under the branches. "
In another session, we had to pick more words or sentences out of the classical penguin books and the make little collages based on them. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a technical problem but it was easily sorted while waiting i had to carry on so instead of doing the collages based on the quotes i went and started thinking about doing them based on the multiverse and parallel universe, in the end, i only got to do one collage based on a quote i picked which was,
"shes still standing on one leg with the other lifted high in the air"~the red shoes
I made it so the girl who was dancing with her leg up and she is dancing between 2 realities fantasy and reality.
For the final outcome, we had to do was to create 2x A5 postcard based on the multiverse/ parallel universe. I am super pleased with how my outcomes turned out. For my first outcome, i was inspired by the film treasure planet I love the idea of a flying ship and going through the universe but what also inspired me were the idea of flying whales but i change it to an orca and for the second outcome one I based it of a quote I found on Pinterest: "You're always one decision away from a totally different life" When I first read this quote I thought this was perfect for a multiverse or parallel universes, like a simple yes and no question could change you life may it be for the better or for worse. So the idea I got was to do a princess about to become a queen but the way she decides to rule the kingdom and what her choice could lead to if she chose right or wrong what consequences it would bring.
In total, i really liked this project i learnt a lot of new things along the way and it was fun exploring ideas for the multiverse and im also really happy with how it turned out in the end.

our end theme was to create 2x A5 postcard based on multiverse/ parallel universe.
For my second one I based it of a quote I found on pinterest: "You're always one decision away from a totally different life"~unknown When I first read this quote I thought this was perfect for a multiverse or parallel universe, like a simple yes and no question could change you life may it be for the better or for worse.
So the idea I got was to do a princess about to become a queen but the way she decides to rule the kingdom and what her choice could lead to if she chose right or wrong what consequences it would bring. So the middle person is the main character and the one to the sides are the 2 different hers depending on what choice she makes, I tried to make it look as like the bodys where pulling apart by not fully colouring them in and by making the hair fade. The her on the left is the princess she would be if she became queen and left her kingdom to suffer and not helping slowly ruining her. And the her on the right is the princess if she decides not to stay is dress and watch from the sidelines but instead help her kingdom.
That's the concept of my drawing I really like how they turned out if I could redo them I would only change the face a little bit but besides that I love them.

I am super pleased with how both my outcomes have turned out. What inspired me was the film treasure planet I love the idea of a flying ship and going through the universe but what also inspired me were the idea of flying whales but I felt my pirate ship needed something a little more so I chose to give them an orca instead, I also based the sun and moon like a tarot card like pattern as I though it would look nice with the idea of the ship in the sky.
I didnt want to put to much detail on this one as in my other one theres alot going on so for this one I wanted it to be a bit more simple. After finishing my postcards I want onto my trusty app pics art and tired it in different filters and these are the one I like most.
