1,400+ New Weather Stations
At Windfinder, our mission is to provide you with the most accurate ground-truth data possible. Whether you're rigging your sail or planning a coastal passage, high-resolution data is key to safety and performance.
We are therefore delighted to announce a significant enhancement to our wind reports today:
More Qualitative Reports
We have integrated over 1,400 new professional stations to increase the data density. These stations are located in the United States and across Europe, including France, the United Kingdom, Greece, and other countries. This means fewer "blind spots" and more precise readings for your specific locations.
Redundancy
In addition, we have added many redundant systems. In technical terms, redundancy is our safety line. If one sensor goes offline during a storm, another is ready to provide the data. This increases the stability and reliability of our entire network, ensuring you never lose sight of the conditions when they matter most.
Spotlights
To see this data in action, check out this popular station on Sylt. As the home of the Windsurf World Cup, this spot requires top-level telemetry. You can now view real-time reports with even greater confidence.
The Road Ahead
We are already working to integrate professional data from more countries, including Switzerland and Spain, to further refine our Alpine and Mediterranean coverage. In the future, more private weather stations will also provide clear benefits for our users.
Enjoy higher density, better stability and professional-grade accuracy wherever the wind takes you. Windfinder: Your data, elevated.
