New album 'Curved Air: Live at Salon Wellenmaschine' on July 23

I am thrilled to announce that my recent show at Salon Wellenmaschine in Berlin will receive an official release via Magnetic Drift on July 23! The album spans 5 tracks across 34+ minutes, performed live and improvised on two synthesizers, a cassette 4-track, assorted effect units, a music box and a microphone. No computers or sequencers were used.

CURVED AIR: Live at Salon Wellenmaschine will be available digitally as well as on a limited edition tape, pre-order in a format of your choice 🔮✨

I am happy this is available again… now with updated cover art and the performance coming in three sonic movements: pre echo, mid echo, and post echo.

Today the kid in me that took cassettes apart, cut tapes and recorded radio signals with a half decent antenna is very happy as my tape/ambient project Window Magic is available digitally everywhere as of today! I started a new label called Magnetic Drift for my music of past, present and future and today sees the first batch of re-issues, i am very excited about that ✨

10 years ago on january 8, 2016 (or what feels like lifetimes ago) I released WELL KEPT ERA, my fourth album as Window Magic.

Happy birthday to what was a quite an important turning point for this project: I started playing completely improvised live shows regularly, refining tape manipulation techniques, incorporating my voice as wordless textures and also not too long after this release I started having all night 6-8 hour dj sets at Keithbar that during the pandemic morphed into a radio show.

New album 'Nocturnal' is out today!

I am extremely happy that my new album 'Nocturnal' is being released today everywhere, a work that comprises a recordings spanning the pandemic and beyond. It is a compendium of night time improvisations from 2016-2020, early morning live improvs, studio outtakes and more.

The 6 tracks cover tape loop works like 'Shift' and 'Hymn Magnetique', ambient drones like 'Hillside', and the center piece 'Nocturnal Counterpoint', a near 20-minute wormlike piece I recorded in 2016.

I hope you will enjoy this one!

dearest tribe,

i will release a new window magic album called 'nocturnal' on november 16.

comprised of 6 tracks, some improvised, some carefully woven together, 'nocturnal' is a set of night time recordings made between 2015-2020 in various place and settings and that i recently dug out of my tape vault. i am really proud of this one, compiling this was a joy and provided some much needed calm & magic during the last few weeks.  it's a fuzzy and warm counterworld where time melts and is irrelevant.  i hope you will enjoy this one!

hello dears

long time no see, long time no listen happy to report i am alive and well, freshly married and knee deep in work in the studio, where i am going through the archives and prepare some long overdue new releases! the first one will appear before the end of the month, as always i will tell you here first.

today also saw the release of a collaboration with nina pixel i did earlier this year,  as nina prepared the music for the theatre dance pice SEN (dream). I was happy to contribute piano and synths as well as mixing the two ambient pieces. have a listen here and give her a follow as many more people should listen to her brilliant tracks!  

there is also a new youtube channel that will be fed with things over time, as of now you will find a few live videos as well as releases and collaborations there. keep an eye out at here there's more to come.
