“Such a fantastic thing to happen. We spent an hour and a half enjoying the displays and the fantastic atmosphere on the streets, so many people out and about and loads of excited children. It was truly one of the best events in Bristol and an evening to remember.”

“I thought it was great that the event was open to all and it made it clear that everyone’s contribution was valid - from children’s paintings to full on installations. This avoided comparisons or fears on my part of not being good enough. I love how amazing people’s creativity is at all levels when it is not judged. So, you could knock up a quick window within the day or plan well ahead and all was acceptable. I would have been intimidated to make a window if it had been billed as an art event as I am not super creative so I was able to enjoy doing my window and I loved it.”
“I have had the opportunity through volunteering to be more creative these days, but for me this event was not for me but about my children getting involved, taking over and being proud to show off their creations. We visited the scrapstore, they chose what they wanted and it was great to see how their ideas were formed from what they found. Our home window was eccentric and funny, but totally how they wanted it to be. We had music and offered sweets as a ‘treat’ as our theme was a halloween party. We met lots of people and made our window a social experience.”
“It was the most special balloon sculpture I ever made, it took me 15 hours and I made it for my partner, Vid Warren who has just passed away from brain cancer. So much blood, sweat and tears went into the sculpture. Not many people will know what was behind it but I hope they got to enjoy some of the love and energy that fuelled it.”
