    ❝ SO ? ❞  Court raised a brow suggestively as she leaned on the Staff, towards Max. The distinct energy of the technology kept her anchored to the ground, as she grinned up at her taller friend from her tip toes. If she wanted to, she knew she could have made eye contact at Max’s height but… this was much more fun. 

          ❝ Is there any news you wanna share with me, Max? Anything at all? How’re classes? ❞   She let the words trail meaningfully, still grinning like the cat that got the cream. But, she let up physically, taking a step back. Her voice softened.  ❝ I’ve been good, before you ask. And I’m really happy to see you. ❞

          “ nothing spectacular’s been happening in my life ,   court .   what can i say ?   i started a new class this week ,   my counselor was against it but it was one i’ve been dying to take since forever and i knew if i didn’t i wouldn’t have time next year .   i’m so glad they could find a spot for me last minute ,   plus i am ahead in all my other classes so it shouldn’t be a problem for me to pass !    ”    was she rambling again ?   ah ,   damn .   she was .   maxine couldn’t help it though ,   she knew what news court was looking for .   it was embarrassing for her to admit it ,   though .

          “  did you know there’s this really cool coffee place by campus that serves the best hot chocolate ?   i never tried it ,   but tom stopped by after class so we could have lunch together and it was right there on the menu . ”    she could feel her face heat up .   oh ,  she was definitely glad she hadn’t rushed to squeeze her friend in a hug this time around ,   she just wanted to run away or jump in excitement ,   and both required so much movement .   “  i'm so happy you’re doing good .   i feel like we haven’t talked in  forever . ”
