liddol russian lady………
you guys really like the bread i made so here’s how you can make it yourself!!
what you’ll need:
500g of All-Purpose Flour
1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon of Salt 🧂
1 1/2 Cups of Buttermilk (or substitute)
1 Egg 🥚
75g of Unsalted Butter; Cold! Cubed!🧈
That’s what you’re gonna need^
Directions Time!
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F
2. Using a large bowl, whisk and combine your flour, salt, and baking soda 🥣
3. In a separate, smaller bowl, whisk your egg and buttermilk together!
(if you do not have buttermilk on hand, you can make some! you just need to let a tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 1/2 cups of milk sit, combined, for at least five minutes)
4. Now back to the dry ingredients! Using a fork, small knife, or pastry cutter, incorporate the cold butter into the flour mixture until the butter becomes small, “crumbly” pieces
5. It’s time to combine the wet ingredites with the dry ingredients! First, create a well in the flour or a small dip in the middle. Then slowly poor the wet ingredients into the well! You’ll need to fold it so that the flour is combined, and while this can be hard, you need to be careful not to over mix! We still have to knead and shape :]
6. On a lightly floured surface, roll your dough into a medium sized ball, about 6-8 inches, kneading as you shape
7. Place onto a lightly greased pan and score an ‘X’ with a knife on top of the bread 🍞
8. Put your son in the oven for 45 minutes, let cool for 30-40 minutes before serving, and voila!
9. You’ve made No-Yeast Irish Soda Bread!!

this is such a fun bread to make because you don’t actually need yeast. it’s a five ingredient bread!!

baking! standing in your kitchen with a lovely apron on, humming to gentle instrumentalist music as you prepare a lovely dessert for a loved one to enjoy
crochet and/or knitting! nothing is as special as creating beautiful by hand to gift others with. “I love you” can be said in so many different ways, and creating a gift by a warm fireplace for hours is a great way to say it
collecting old children’s books and toys; anyone coming over to your home will never be bored - and the nostalgia from looking at them is really special
tending to some plants daily! having a routine is nice, and caring for something as beautiful as house plants (or a garden!) is comforting. you could even name your plants, and watching them grow alongside you will surely make you happy
decorating a shelf with knick-knacks. you could get some small porcelain figurines who remind you of family/friends, or anything that makes you smile when you glance at it. gently dusting your knick-knacks off frequently and letting them be on full display in your home is special!
doing a puzzle - puzzles take time and patience, but the final product is worth it. you could even do a puzzle with a loved one, making the experience even more enjoyable
decorating for holidays. no matter what holidays you celebrate, putting up some decorations for it is a good way to pass some time, and to make the season feel more exciting! it can be really fun to do with those you care for as well
