Wow I miss 2013. What an era.

My contract here is almost up! I’ve changed so much from who I was before I came here and I’m proud of the transition. I might not be that much better off, but I do have a lot more self respect.

I don't know what to do with it, or about it. He's 60 and all the stories about families with unresolved conflicts and a family death keep showing up in my feed.

I also don't want to let that kind of stress back into my life. If he hated me that much when I was 18 for just trying to be successful, he'd hate me even more now. Have you ever had the realization that you don't have a single happy memory with someone? Why would I let him back into my life?

Colin Bigelow’s “Interplay” at Pocko Gallery.

Opening on November 8th, 2018 at Pocko Gallery in London, England is artist is artist Colin Bigelow’s solo exhibition, “Interplay.”

“Interplay” is an exhibition of 26 paintings that include four series of hand- painted works on paper. The four series that form the focus of the show are Dynamics, Identity, Proximity and Technology with an overarching concept that information is ubiquitous and flows from the significant events that set up our universe to us as individuals and ultimately into the technology we create.

Planning, or at least the belief that things will workout according to plan, is mostly illusory. Preparation, on the other hand, is different from planning.

Planning is about predicting the #future. Preparation is about being ready for whatever the future may hold, regardless if things workout according to plan.

Planning is about expecting certain outcomes. Preparation is about being as ready as one can be for any outcome.

We can do both, or we can do the latter, but planning by itself is sure to lead to disappointment.

Some of the best things in life happen unexpectedly and in spite of our failed plans (sometimes because of them).

Rather than planning — mapping out the future, perhaps it’s better to embrace the moment. If we always have the attitude that we’ll do what’s important in the present moment we’ll always be prepared for anything.
