01. i am twenty - nine years old, and will not follow anyone under the age of twenty - one. anyone under eighteen especially will be hard - blocked should they follow me. this is a matter of my own preferences &. comfort.

02. single - ship with cole's dabi. i write hawks as a gay trans man who flirts with women for his public persona, but no other romantic shipping will occur here! also, if you ship endhawks i hope you go to hell.

03. i don't care about canon, and i never have. the only thing from recent chapters that i acknowledge is him losing his quirk. if you are looking for a canon - compliant hawks, this is not the blog for you.

04. hawks idolized endeavor. this changed the moment the news of his abuse towards his family was brought to light. he is a victim of abuse himself, both from his father and at the hands of the hero commission. he does not take lightly to it, and his working relationship with endeavor is strictly professional, and strained at its best.

we should have been on the same side. he bites his tongue to keep himself from talking, but truthfully, he's too tired to argue these days. there is a lack of weight on his back that he's still learning to live with, but seeing her now brings with it phantom pains; fire at his back and licking at his face. these things are not kaina's fault, but hawks wants someone to blame. he can admit this. but instead of spitting vitriol, he gives the barest bones of a smile. i'm optimistic to a fault. that feels like a lifetime ago, now. he wonders if kaina believed him then, and if he believes him now. ❝ deskwork, mostly. apparently i'm no good without bein' able to fly around, so. . . ❞ he shrugs. tries not to let that same bitterness from earlier seep into his words. ❝ maybe i can be an accountant. might pay better. ❞

❝ what, am i not warm, cuddly, and trust - worthy enough for you? ❞ his smile is an easy one, even with the way her voice grates at his ears. eyes dart to the offered seat, and with a roll of his shoulders, he dismisses his feathers to rest in a neat pile in the corner so he may more comfortably lean back once he's seated. he mimics its posture almost without thinking; a learned thing, to mirror someone so he seems normal. it feels wrong, but then, this whole ordeal feels wrong. he uncrosses his legs. his knee bounces slightly and his hand comes to rest atop it in an attempt to stop the motion. ❝ nah, seriously. i'm with you guys, whatever you need. the whole hero thing. . . kinda a load of crap, don't you think? ❞

the movement to turn and finally look at him is long and slow. there's nothing in your stare — not contempt, not anger, not shame. your eyes reflect the same numbness you feel when skin is aflame. it's more of a choice now. something to guard yourself, rather than a curated habit. a way to sit through the awkward interactions as everyone — your family — struggles with endless ramble to fill your silence, or match it and grow uncomfortable. and it will make ignoring him easier.

a finger points to a chair tucked under the small table you've been alloted. this room is far too small for a reunion like this. you would prefer the outdoors, where you could walk away. keigo has you hostage to a conversation you would rather never have, but at least you can benefit. at least you only have to endure until he grows bored. or too uncomfortable, whichever comes first. ‘ get me some real food an' you can talk. ’

❝ woah now, you think i'm actually gonna go get you some food? ❞ you will. because you did offer, yes, but also because they asked (well, demanded; but it's almost the same thing). it's a pathetic thing, how you almost feel compelled to answer to their beck and call even with all the bad blood between you. maybe it's your good heart. or maybe it's the fact that there was almost something with them that you've never had before, and you know you'll never have with anyone else again. whatever it is, another dismissive wave of your hand. ❝ i'll order in. quirk or not, being the former number two hero still has its perks. ❞

those perks are waning ever since the war ended, but they don't need to know that. or, maybe they already do know. they seem to know everything else about you, so the remnants of your failing career don't seem too far - fetched for them to figure out. whatever. your phone is already in hand as you pull the chair out, and you sit in it backwards, the back of the chair a comforting press against your abdomen. you're still getting used to doing anything without the weight of the world on your back. this helps distract you, even as you quickly place an order for delivery.

you have found yourself in limbo. it feels wrong. you feel wrong. you are not supposed to be here. you should be dead. in hell. your body should be nothing but ash. yet, you feel the sun upon your skin as it pours through the window, filling the clean, white room you are left to call home.

your skin. signs of healing are difficult to find among the mottled burns. the scars and wounds pull with every move, no matter how small, straining over bone — you sit on the bed against the window, careful of every move to avoid the ache. knees propped up, elbow resting on one. as close to comfortable as you could be.

the door opens after a knock and you don't flinch, spare no glance. you don't need to, to know who it is.

‘ when they said there was a visitor, ’ head tilts with the feigned sneer in your voice. eyes don't move from the boring view outside. you know the sound of everyone else that would dare to visit — their gait, the way they knock — and you know when to expect them. but not @wingin. you believed your last meeting would have been the final. he, in a way that differs from you, should not be here. ‘ you're the last person i would've guessed. ’

you are, perhaps to a fault, a forgiving person. you shouldn't be, in your line of work — what sort of hero forgives a villain? what sort of hero gets tangled up with a villain in the way you had in the first place? not a very good one. there is a scar taking up most of your left shoulder and neck now, because of them. your wings are likely to never fully recover, because of them. some days, you can't speak aloud, because of them. you shouldn't forgive them. you shouldn't torture yourself with seeing them. but not only are you forgiving, you're just plain stupid.

you find that now that you're here, you don't know what to say to them. they look like shit, and understandably. it isn't your place to judge, but before you can bite your tongue, you say, ❝ who else'd be here to see your ugly ass this time of day? ❞

it's not nice. you've never claimed to be nice, though.
