SPOILERS FOR EPISODES 7-8 OF HAZBIN HOTEL(KINDA)

Okay let's talk about that ending. First off, I love it, I kinda cried, but still it is really rushed and I wished they have like 3 more episodes just to flesh it all out😔. Like Abel's breakdown? Lute needing NEEDING that insult just to see Adam in him and actually follow orders? Rosie and Alastor? Angel Dust? There were so many stuff that I WISH got more screen time.

I wish they elaborated more on those aspects coz I feel like it gives us a bit more insight on everything.

But I'm not gonna go on a tangent about those, at least not in this post. Anyways,the ending, specifically Hear My Hope.

Again, I cried. Real ugly tears too. There's always something about people coming together, especially in a song, for a greater purpose that gets to me. Sure its kinda giving Arcane season 2, but with everything that's happening this is probably the best outcome.

Back to what I was saying, see Charlie's magic? All those notes? Her power may be the same as her mother, and it made me think of how Lilith was introduced. A powerful being that empowered hell through her song.

For all of Vox's name dropping and forcing his own interpretation of Lilith's actions, I'd like to think that Hear My Hope is a better example of her dream. Citizens of Hell rising up, uniting in order to live another day. Finding their purpose and voicing it out through song.

Redemption is possible, possibly by atoning for the sins that brought you to hell in the first place based on Pentious' example. I'd like to believe that Lilith believed in that, or at least hoped. Therefore, seeing her husband lose all hope, seeing the sinners live helplessly in hell made her want to help, want to empower them and help them find purpose and possibly atonement. It can also explain why she kept Charlie away from Lucifer.

It was mentioned that Lucifer could only see the bad things in people, either as a punishment or from his own pessimism. He ignored his own kingdom and let suffering run rampant because he doesn't believe that the sinners could do better. Lilith may not have wanted Charlie to internalize such beliefs. I don't think we've heard anything regarding Lilith telling Charlie not to pursue the hotel, but we did have a lot of arguments from Lucifer. She may have tried to lead Charlie away from such beliefs so she too can hope for the betterment of the sinners.

Of course, with that ending, with no word from Lilith, we can't confirm anything but one can hope. I just love the idea of it especially after Hear My Hope. People of hell, overlords, singing and offering up their power to save not just themselves but hell itself; that in their song they had the power to stop a full on attack from a Seraphim. An attack that literally broke the barrier made by the Virtues, and the pearly gates themselves btw.

I can't wait for Season 3, especially after that Lilith cliffhanger.

I just watched episodes 5 and 6 I am fucking unwell, how are they resolving that in 2 episodes istg if S2 ends in a cliff hanger I'm gonna scream.

I need more Velvette content raaah

(Minor Spoilers on Hazbin S2)

I love seeing more Velvette content this season coz she is THAT bitch... But also we see how she proves her claim of being the backbone of the Vs.

While being considered as the social media demon, she seemed to also have a bit of a fashion designer vibe based on her scenes in S1, and I think its such a neat detail coz part of her role in Voxtech is dressing up content to make it more palatable to viewers.

We saw from the 1st episode of S2 how the Vs work; they ensnare their victims with promises of glitz and glamour. Velvette dresses her up in in fashionable styles and does work on her face, and that's the first thing you see when you see the actress. You see the dress, the face, you see their shows, and never even realize how blind you are to the behind the scenes.

After the dress up, Valentino takes over and takes care of the stuff underneath, those you get to see once you're already knee deep into the content. He exploits what he can, "all your holes" so to speak until everything she makes goes back to them.

Finally, when the scandal settles and she's no longer profitable, Vox returns to kick her out.

While yeah, a lot of sinners in Hell would probably not mind the abuse in the background, we know that "image" is still something Vox worries about when he told Val to not hit Angel in public. After all, even if you do relish content with abuse, its different when its on a fictional sense and not right in front of you.

So in that sense, Velvette, makes Voxtech palatable to the regular consumer. She hides bruises with dresses, sugarcoats pain and trauma with witty captions. Even with the love potion

See how she looks enticing, seductive, and most of all willing? When we know that those who get dosed with it are most definitely NOT willing considering that this is essentially a date rape drug? Velvette makes sure that when you see Voxtech content, the first thing you think is glamour, popularity, and never what type of contracts the victims have to sign or how many souls were used to test the substances they release.

So yeah, I really like Velvette as a character and the complexities in how she's portrayed. I hope they flesh her out a bit more, just to show people that just because she's not directly the antagonist doesn't mean she's not as bad at the other Vs

Hazbin Hotel S2

(Thoughts and minor spoilers)

So as of now we're on episodes 3-4 and once again my blood pressure is rising whenever Charlie does something dumb. Did no one give her any form of PR training coz what she did was a shitshow.

Its not even her naivety or quirky disney princess character vibe that I'm annoyed with, its how her character continuously makes it harder for anyone to trust her.

I know she just wants everyone to be redeemed, but all those things she did with Angel? Not only were they really traumatic but also went against the boundaries he was trying to set. And Angel was right, with all the stuff Charlie is pulling, her apologies are starting to sound annoying and fake.

I hope she matures more in the next couple of episodes. I just want to see her being the princess she is, showing the sinners that she's there for them and above all, able to protect them while they fight for redemption. Coz right now, even if newer souls do seek redemption or are still plagued with guilt, the first thing they'll hear about Charlie isnt the hotel, isn't her goal to redeem sinners; no, the first thing they'll hear is that she's a wacky nepo baby playing savior when she can't even properly defend her own cause.

I suppose I'm just really mad after episode 3. The hotel is probably the only place Angel feels free to be himself without being abused, exploited or objectified by other sinners and it was Charlie herself who brought the cameras to him on a futile attempt to prove herself once again. Never mind that there's not enough information on redemption, not enough info on what exactly redeemed Pentious. In the end it was Angel who had to suffer through her decisions, who's own trauma got aired in live tv.

I hope to hell that they gave Charlie a more distinct character arc, let her be a bit more mature not just for her sake but for the souls that actually trust her.
