whyd they call him that
OOS (Objects of Sarasota) technically came first, Carbon Extinction is its prequel story that I got too attached to so I've been using its title for both stories and the general setting since it's worldbuilding heavy. That being said I think OOS is deserving of it's own tag since it has a different protagonist (Roxanne). Key it's carbon extinction if Forrest is normal its OOS if hes pink and or theres a lot of object people

What's like the synopsis/elevator pitch for Carbon Extinction? All the art you've posted of it is really cool and I wanna learn more
:D!!!!!!
Future where people get really into making plants/animals out of silicone that resemble inanimate objects (known as mimics). A bioweapon virus breaks out that kills off almost all carbon-based lifeforms, so humans invent these thangs ↓
(stasis maidens) to hide in to wait for the virus to die out and for things to go back to normal. Consequence of this is that during that time frame mimics evolved to fill the emptied ecological niches, some of them even gaining sapience and rebuilding society, and after emerging the humans who survived get like DNA modification abilities as a side effect of becoming silicone based. Humans can temporarily turn themselves into mimics (depicted here) among other things. Mimics themselves are incapable of this and tend to have mixed feelings towards humans. Often fear, curiosity, or reverence.
