We are no longer accepting applications!

The admins have decided that we are not going to accept applications anymore. I’m sad to announce that the Tate Academy will be closing officially on the 17th of February, the one year anniversary. All roleplayers are still more than welcome to roleplay for as long as they want to, but the main blog will not be check anymore after the 17th.

The new bio cards will all be posted before we close.

We have loved roleplaying with you all, it has been an amazing experience and it’s extremely sad to have to close, but it seems like the best thing to do.

I would like to know how many people wanted to continue role-playing beyond this. I know there are some of you were waiting out the slow times to see if they picked up. And if someone were willing to take over the running and back end work, do the admins care if we take our adventures further than Tate?

I'll be sad to see this place go, but I'd rather have a definite decision one way or another. I may still be learning everyone's names, but I enjoyed writing with all of you and learning about your characters and their backgrounds. 

Whether people feel like continuing beyond Tate on or not, I think we should try and plan one last big hurrah together. We could send Tate off with a bang, rather than a slow quiet trickle. It would be completely voluntary, of course, and I don't know if it should be an attack by the military or maybe another group of mutants busts in to break everyone free. There could be a glorious battle and all kinds of epic things could happen. Those who still want to continue on here after the others have left would still have the opportunity and everyone else gets one last showdown. Seriously, if you want that to happen though, you've got to speak up. There isn't any reason we can't plan these sorts of things together. We'd need to decide what was going to happen, then we'd need to assign a few volunteers to play NPCs, like allied forces to spur things along and enemy units to overcome. People can die, escape, or hold down the fort, all depending on how they want their story at Tate to end. 

Even if just one other person wants to escape with Winter, I'll put on a hell of a show for you. :) Because of the action, I'll probably be writing paras, but you guys can respond however you want to.

Lastly I want to say thank you to everyone! This was my very first Tumblr RP. I've run lots of games on forums and in person, but Tumblr has a very different style and feel. So thanks to everyone who helped me awkwardly fumble along convos and figuring out gifs, lol. It was definitely a fun learning experience.

I have a few shout-outs to some of your characters:

Sawyer: Winter totally has a crush on you. I find it fascinating because she's such a harmless bunny, and you're so lethal. The good thing about Winter is she doesn't care about all the bullshit. She just loves the best of what she sees. She adores you.

Jackson: You always managed to pop in just as Winter was feeling lonely. She considered you to be one of those charismatic friends that you always remember fondly, but don't really know anything about. If zombie apocalypse came, you'd be one of the kids she didn't mind saving.

Jane: Winter would have done whatever it took to help you find some measure of peace with your powers. Meeting you left an impression on her that shaped her character.

Mateus: Winter pretty much adores you as well. You were the first person to experience her power in a positive way and she thought your powers were fascinating. I'd like to have seen the two of you work together on a battle field or something, lol. 

  And if this is it and nothing gets planned, I just want to say bye to everyone! I'll probably try to make my own RPG from here and see if I can't get the hang of this yet, lol.

OOC: A new quest has been activated-

Winter made a bunch of these flyers by hand and posted them around the academy. If you'd like your character to be involved in Winter's Freedom Party please RSVP by reblogging this and leaving what capacity you'd like them to be involved in. She has planned a variety of activities like sock sliding, hide 'n seek, arts and crafts, as well as story telling and music. 

You're character could be involved in a number of ways! Maybe they saw the flyer and wanted to help out so they get in touch with her. Maybe they saw the flyer and thought it sounded fun, or like a way to take a short break from what's going on around them. Perhaps they were just hungry and are in it for the delicious, free deer jerky. This is also a good way to get involved in Winter's unofficial "pep" squad. 

If this doesn't sound like the sort of party your character would be interested in crashing, but you would like to get them involved in group activities of some kind then please reblog and leave a comment about what sort of activity you'd like to see next time.

I'll be responding to everyone's comments and this plot line will be open for discussion through Saturday. I'll make the in character post sometime Sunday.

You simply are divine  dear Winter. I don’t know how I’ve lasted this long without you. Oh her? I don’t know. Last I saw her, she was wearing a barbed wire crown and being hung upside down. I can’t tell you if she died or not, but I haven’t seen her since.

Mostly making music. Like I said, I promised nothing irrational, so I’ve been a good little girl. Have you met Gar? You’ve got to meet him, he’s a wonderful, wonderful man.

Well…since I last saw you, there was an attack on the academy. About a third of us were taken, and I haven’t seen them since. Come July, we blew up London Bridge, and about a month later, this happened. There was a surprising lack of a fuss about it, but I promised a friend I wouldn’t do anything irrational.

Don't worry about it. I finished it before I...uh...was taken. Its just been waiting in my room. And on that note, I haven't seen my roommate since I got back. I wonder if she was taken. Crap...what was her name again...? Batzi? Hefzy? Ug...I only saw her like twice.

I can’t say it’s much better here than where you were, though it’s mostly safe if you’re not like me and like causing trouble. I’ll answer any questions you’ve got. I don’t know what trauma they’ve got, but this is really emotional damage academy, if not one for mutants.

Well...what happened? Someone told me a few people died, they were really torn up so I didn't want to ask who. Who is even in charge right now? Are there any staff left? Emotional damage academy sure sounds right. I wish I could help, but I don't really know what to do.

I was hunting in the woods. You know, sunshine, flower power, stalking my prey,  when suddenly...the army arrived. 

They didn't hurt me or anything, but I was stuck in a detainment center for a while. I think they were setting up the barrier or scouting the area or something when they grabbed me. Its been a rough few months...

I can't really complain though. It was lonely, there were lots of irritating questions and being stared at like a freak all the time wore thin, but...well, it seems like everyone here is suffering from some traumatic thing no one will talk about and here I am whining about not having anyone to talk to for a little while.

But seriously, Sawyer, I missed you. Oh, and I have a present for you, but that's in my room so I'll have to get that later.

Oh, maybe not. I suppose doctors meet people all the time that prefer to do things the hard way. Do lots of people bother you to fix them when they're hurt?
