"There is no way to fix me. Why would you even try?"
Letting the lids of his eyes fall to be half closed, he bit down on his lower lip as he felt the tongue move over his skin. He then released it and moaned at the resulting friction. Oscar hadn’t felt this in a while. Not since he had met Scott, actually. “Do you want help getting those off?” he asked, his voice low as his fingers found the loops on Scott’s jeans then went to the bulge forming behind his zipper and he rested his hand there.
There was a low moan that escaped Scott, something needy, something primal. He didn't want this, he 'needed' it. His mind was unclear, all obligations of the day and his position had left him. Nothing existed outside of this moment. He pressed against Oscar, generating more friction against his hand. Hungrily he kissed at the flesh he could find, pulling back just enough to let out a breathy 'yes' to Oscar's question. Thoughts of what he might feel when this was over were no where near him, but he would come to wish they had been.
A startled yelp came from Oscar as he was picked up and he quickly wrapped his arms and legs around Scott to keep himself connected to the man. Once he was set down, he did as he was silently bade and pressed his back to the wall while panting quietly for air. He tilted his head to the side to give Scott an easier time at his neck and had the forethought to take his glasses off and put them on the space beside him before his shirt was yanked off. He felt a bit bemused with the speed that this was progressing but decided not to say anything about it and so focused on finally shoving off Scott’s jacket and then quickly worked on the buttons of his shirt to push that off as well. There were still far too many layers in his mind.
His lips returned to Oscar's neck as he ran kisses over the other's flesh. His tongue smoothed over Oscar's collar bone as he placed both of his hands on the other man's hips, pulling his pelvis close to Scott's jeans, building friction. His breath had become harsh, as though something had been awakened in him. He wanted this touch, this affection, and it was starting to make his jeans more than uncomfortable.
A low moan came from Oscar as Scott ran his hands across his bare skin and he moved into those touches eagerly. He was panting by the time the kiss was over but didn’t find any reason to refuse another. Whining at the scratches, he then worked on removing the scarf he’d just carefully tied and threw it aside. Once that was done, he moved onto the buttons of the man’s jacket and growled quietly, frustrated by the sudden complexity of Scott’s clothing but not wanting to ruin it. He just wanted it off so he could touch him too.
As the other fumbled with his clothing, Scott's hands pulled out of his shirt, moving to his backside and hoisting him up. Silently encouraging Oscar to wrap his legs around him, Scott pulled him away from the wall to move them down the hallway to the bedroom. He rested Oscar on the dresser, leaning over so the other would lean against the wall. He ran kisses down his neck to his shirt line, becoming suddenly frustrated with the idea of the shirt. He pulled back, tugging the shirt up and over Oscar's head, tossing it aside.

Oscar made a noise of surprise when Scott stepped forward and his eyes went wide when he was pulled into another kiss. Face flushing brightly, he then closed his eyes as he eagerly returned it. When Scott stepped forward, he stepped back and released a shaky sigh between their moving lips when he felt his back hit the wall. Reaching out his hands, he grabbed onto the front of the man’s jacket and pressed himself back up against Scott with a low noise of enjoyment. He was wondering where this was coming from but he honestly wasn’t complaining.
It wasn't long into the kiss and Scott could feel his control slipping away. His mind swam and his body ached for the affection. His hands found their way to Oscar's waist, tugging at his shirt until they found flesh to crawl over. IT took ages for him to break the kiss and even when he did it was only long enough to catch breath before he kissed him again. His hands roamed up Oscar's back, scratching light lines over his flesh. Apparently he wasn't going out at all today.
"I know they say only idiots can catch colds but you should really bundle up anyway," Oscar stated as he grabbed up one of Scott's scarves. Laying it so that it first rested on the back of the man's neck, he then smiled up at him and tugged lightly on the sides of the scarf while pushing himself up on his toes to give him a short kiss. "Are you going to be out for long?" he asked as he neatly finished tying it up.
For a moment Scott simply looked back at him as though he didn't understand. The honest truth was that he didn't. He had never had affection, not really. But he liked it. Oh indeed he did. Without answering, he stepped forward and placed his hands on Oscar's face. He pulled him in close and locked their lips together. He stepped forward, backing Oscar against the wall and pressing their bodies together.
The warning note in Scott’s voice gave Oscar pause and he looked over at the other man with a small frown. He was trying to see through Scott again to discern what hadn’t been said. Was he the one being threatened? Or someone else?
"I’m certain you’ll find a way to achieve that," he said with a small smile in return. "Thank you. I worry you might waste away sometimes when I’m gone." He was sure that wouldn’t happen but there was a certain amount of disregard the other seemed to have with necessities to keep a person alive.
"I should be coming back next week if everything goes well."
"Such a long time." He spoke with disappointment. "I will be missing you. I can't return here very often, for very obvious reasons." He knew how wanted he was. MI6 wanted him dead, and that wasn't hard for him to figure out. He wasn't ready to die, not yet.
"But when you are ready to come home I will be waiting for you." He said with ease. "I have informed my men that I shall be taking some time off upon your return."
"I don’t think I’d be very useful to you in terms of what you do for work, Scott," he said with a quiet chuckle. That wasn’t necessarily true in this case. He knew that very well but he kept a lid on it. It was very easy to just pretend like everything was normal. He could have almost laughed at that except he was certain he’d sob first.
"Christ, I hope he knows that." Oscar sighed heavily and closed his eyes as his head lolled back onto the bed. "I think it’s for the best, honestly. I’m here to gather intelligence and design useful equipment. Going out into the field with my low stamina and conflicting morals does far more harm than good. It’s just lucky no one was killed because of me."
Shaking himself to get rid of those thoughts, he opened his eyes and focused them on Scott again. “What have you been up to since I’ve been away?”
"So do I." He said with a slightly more warning tone than perhaps he meant. He watched Oscar some more, trying to decide what to tell him. What had he been up to?
"Sleeping, eating, drinking, repeating. Meetings. Not traveling this month. Perhaps next. There is talk of a contract in New York. I would like to expand my little empire." He offered a smile. "I took proper care of myself, as requested."
"I missed you too." Oscar then lapsed into a thoughtful silence as the full scope of the mission was categorized inside his head. Then he shrugged. "Very typical for one of its type. I drugged myself during the flight as no one seems to recall or possibly care that there is a line in my contract stating that I won’t be forced onto planes. The rest is rather a blur to me now which seems to show that nothing too atypical happened."
His eyes had danced away from Scott’s during his explanation and focused on the wall. He didn’t want to think about the feeling of a gun in his hands and eyes wide with terror. Swallowing, Oscar rubbed his hands a little on the blankets as though to erase the phantom weight. “I didn’t kill anyone. I failed my mission.” His smile was small and seemed more resigned than anything else. “I must be the biggest disappointment this agency has ever had. One after another.”
"Hmm. That would depend on your definition of disappointment. You see, if it were my company, my agency, then you would be far from disappointing. You stayed true to yourself. I admire that deeply." He offered the same supportive smile he always dd. He was so good at being nice. It was terribly that it was only ever skin deep. At least with most people.
"I get the feeling Mallory wont be sending you into the field again. If you could not do it this time I don't think even he is stupid enough to try again. And perhaps that is for the best."
The kiss was happily received and leaned into before Oscar too was settling himself back against his stacked up pillows. It was strange receiving such affections from Scott. Though he longed for them as he longed for loving touches from an intimate partner, they always felt just a touch different. But he already knew why that was even though he tried not to think about it too often.
"It’s no use telling me not to trouble myself," he said lightly. "You know I always will." His smile turned into one of relief when he recognize that he hadn’t interrupted anything of great importance. "I’m alright so it’s nothing to truly be too bothered about," he said and shrugged a little. It felt good to have someone to talk to again that wasn’t just there to test his vitals. Any excuse to not sit in silence with his ever teaming thoughts.
"Of course I’ll come if you’ll have me." The grin he gave Scott was warm with affection. "Was there ever any doubt?"
"Of course not, love." He leaned back with an arm resting on the back of his chair and his legs crossed, very casually giving the impression of being comfortable. "I have missed you in the time you were gone. Apart from being shot, how was the mission?"
He wondered what had happened. Obviously Oscar had been unable to kil whoever he was set to. This relieved Scott in some way. His Oscar was no killer, something he admired about him.

Oscar held a long seated distaste for hospitals of any sort and the medical area of MI6 was no exception to this rule. It still smelled of a sterile death though it was unusual for people to actually die there. Most of that went on in missions. Still, the presence of death haunted Q stronger in places like this and he could feel it stealing over him whenever he was alone.
Health-wise, he was in very good shape for what had transpired previously. He’d lost some blood from the shooting and then there was the fact that he’d been shot to begin with but his recovery was coming along quickly. Not, of course, quickly enough in his mind but there was nothing he could do about that. Oscar was again learning that this was another lesson in patience and so he’d do his best to not be in such a rush.
But now he was feeling a measure of guilt tempering his impatience. He had texted Scott to fill him in on Oscar’s situation but he also had the hope that the man would come see him. Or maybe call or even a text back would be nice. Expecting something wasn’t any good and he wasn’t even sure if the man was still in the country. Scott could also have just had his phone off for once but Oscar really doubted that. He’d never seen Scott turn it off in all the time they’d spent together. It seemed like more patience was necessary.
And it was only when he’d come to that conclusion when his dozy mind forced him into more wakefulness at the sound of someone approaching his bed. Scott. Of course. Oscar couldn’t stop a genuine smile of his own as he rested his hand on the one on his arm. “As well as can be expected,” he said. “You’ll get in trouble if someone sees you down here.” His attitude already spoke of trouble and Q somehow felt that something had happened. But what? “I’m sorry if I interrupted something important by texting you earlier,” he apologized. “I didn’t even think of the time.”
He leaned forward and kissed Oscar's cheek lightly before settling more completely into his seat. "Oh I hardly think that's going to be an issue." He said in a cheery tone. I have someone watching the door. Don't trouble yourself." His hands folded on his lap as he watched Oscar closely for anything different about him. He seemed fine. Bored, but fine. This eased some of the odd tension in Scott's chest.
"You interrupted nothing, love. I had been in a meeting but it ended early. Besides, a meeting is hardly worth my absence in this situation. I would have come even if I had been busy." He took his mobile from his pocket, sending a quick text message before tucking it away. Someone had to make sure Mallory was aware that Scott knew where he lived and what time he slept, as well as to make sure his threats were very, very clear.
"When you are allowed to leave you will come back to my flat, wont you?"
[Text: Mint Green] I'm sorry I haven't been answering your texts the last few days. The doctors wouldn't let me have my phone until I stabilized. -OB [Text: Mint Green] I got shot. You were right, you know. I'm not a killer. -OB [Text: Mint Green] I'm in medical at MI6 now. I don't think I'll be allowed to work for a while which is ridiculous. It's only my damn leg and I can use crutches for that until I heal up. -OB [Text: Mint Green] I got lucky. Besides getting shot, of course. I'm sorry. -OB
He stared down at the screen with considerable distaste. He ran a thumb over the text as he allowed the gravity of the situation to wash over him. He stood from the table he'd been sitting at, offering a smile to the man across from him. Their meeting would have to continue at a later date. He offered the man a ride home before slipping out to walk along the hallway. He could make this up to the client later. Right now there was buisness to attend to.
He slipped into his car, directing the driver to MI6. He had his planted agent meet him at the door. Stepping inside the building he did not head for the medical wing. No, instead he had his man direct him to Mallory's office. He ignored the receptionist as she tried to explain that Mallory was very busy indeed. Instead he walked right through the door, cast her a warning glance and closed it behind him. He locked it, and turned to face the man behind the desk. He was on the phone, of course he was.
He took the four steps to Mallory's desk with conviction, taking the phone from his hand and setting it on the base. He rested both palms on the table and leveled his eyes with the man. "Do you know who I am?"
"Of course I do." Mallory spat. "what sort of idiot question is that. Consider yourself under arrest, Mr. Winters."
"I don't think so." Scott's calm and cheerful smile gave warning, but Mallory would not know that. "You sent your Quartermaster into the field a few days ago. As a result he has been shot. Now, though you likely do not know this, Oscar Boothroyd is under my protection. Don;t blame him, I hardly think he even knows it. Never-the-less you have put your hand on one of my pieces and, in the spirit of an official chess match you will have to be punished."
"You're mad, you are."
"Am I?" He asked with a wicked grin. From his pocket he took a pen knife, moving around the desk and seating himself in front of Mallory. "Let's find out."
-----
It was a few hours later that Scott settled himself into a seat beside the bed they had Oscar in. His shirt sleeves had been rolled up and his hair freshly washed to avoid Oscar knowing what he had done to Mallory. He offered a smile at the other and ran a hand over his arm. "Are you well?" He was much too cheerful.
There it was again, that stabbing pain. It felt almost worse this time and Oscar crashed onto the floor with a hand over his mouth muffling a noise of distress. But, once again, it was gone and, as he lay on the floor, he started to feel a bit paranoid. The pieces also began to quickly line up for him as well as he slowly sat upright and looked over at Scott.
"This is probably not good," he said slowly. A vast understatement. "You’re not feeling anything, I take it?"
"No." He said cooly, gesturing to his maid. She hesitantly took a step forward and doubled over. Scott stepped back. "It's me, apparently." He said slowly. "I wonder how exactly that works...." He mused. "This is unpleasant... or pleasant, company dependent..."
He looked to Oscar, a look of sympathy on his face ."I'm sorry. Our plans are going to be difficult if we cannot eat at the same table."
Another gasp came from Oscar as the pain vanished as soon as it appeared. He pressed a hand carefully to his stomach in disbelief as though expecting to feel that pain again but nothing came. In fact, he felt no discomfort whatsoever.
Realizing that someone else might have been struck with what he’d just experienced, he turned to the maid in concern only to see her also recovering. “Are you alright?” he asked, wanting to make sure. Looking around, he saw Scott in another room and matched his confused look with one of his own.
Scott sighed and set the phone down, moving to stand next to Oscar. As he got closer however he noted both Oscar and the woman doubling over. looking shocked he jumped back, trying to get back to the phone. As soon as he was out of range she was fine, and so was Oscar.
"Ohh dear." He almost sang out. "How interesting..."
Poking his head into the kitchen to ask Scott a question, Oscar's face suddenly paled and he clutched at the doorway with a choked noise of pain. He felt like he was being stabbed in the gut and, though he'd never experienced it personally, he'd imagined it a few times after some of the more grisly reports he went over. Sinking to his knees, he hugged his stomach and gasped from the pain of it. What the hell was going on?
Before OScar had even hit the ground Scott was at his side, confusion poured over his features. He called out, a house keeper appearing next to him in a flash, but the same ailment causing her distress.
Ambulance. He should call one. Standing he made his way into the sitting room, now a good distance from both of them. He could see his maid recovering, and confusion crossed him again.
Magic anon: Anyone approaching your muse for the next 24 hours will be struck with a sudden, excruciating pain until they leave your muse's presence.
// Ohh dear. This will make him very happy.
Another sigh escaped Oscar but this one was of comfort as he leaned into the hand on his hair. “Of course I’ll come back,” he murmured. Then he hesitated. “I don’t believe he cares for me very much,” he confessed slowly. “Something happened after the Skyfall Incident when the previous M died. I don’t rightly know myself but after he was instated as M, he changed.” He chewed on his lower lip lightly in thought. What could have happened then?
"He wants me to kill someone. He hasn’t directly stated it but that’s been the purpose of these missions and I’ve somehow managed to avoid doing so thus far."
"Then he is a very stupid man." Scott said with firm assurance, setting his tablet down and stretching. "I think by now you must know that I am an expert on killers. You are no such thing. If he hopes to turn you into one he really should consider sacking you. It will not happen." He shook his head lightly, his hand still trailing through Q's hair. "You're too lovely for that sort of thing, to innocent."
