OOC: Packing up

I think I’m gonna make this blog inactive, folks. I’ve had a lot of fun with Q and maybe I’ll do more with him one day but, as it is, I’m only actually RPing with two people and none of that is happening on Tumblr which is okay. 

I’m still gonna leave the blog up but it’ll be an archive. If I ever do start a new Q account or an RP account in general, I’ll make a post about it here in case any of you want to interact with whatever muse that might be or drop in to say hi to me.

“So you’d rather I get shot than lose any of your precious tech, is that what you’re saying?  It’s only a gun Q, you can make another one.”  He huffed, slightly insulted that Q would think that he’d had any other alternative than throwing the gun and that he had just chosen to toss it anyways.

“For the amount of grief I get from you lot down here at Q Branch, I think I’d rather defend myself by hand than have to deal with the dirty looks and the lectures I get every time I come down here with my kit in less than pristine condition. You know we actually have to use them don’t you?  We don’t just take them to decorate our hotel rooms wherever we go.”

He opened the door and frowned.  “My report is already filed and waiting for admin approval.  I may not be your favorite agent Q, but I do at least know how to do paperwork.”

“If I thought I was creating something that would be used in a decorative manner, I would have made it as such.” He had to steady himself and so counted backwards from ten in every language he knew. Perhaps there was some merit in that technique as he felt his rapidly tensing shoulders pause in the act of doing so and, while they didn't relax, they didn't wind any tighter either. That was good at least.

Looking up from his computer again, Q folded his arms across his chest and returned the frown with one of his own. “No, Mason, that is not what I am saying,” he stated and enunciated his words a bit more clearly than normal if only so he might drive this message into the agent’s skull. “While you belong to a set of individuals I’m not wholly fond of, I must say that I consider you far less expendable than others. It also felt a lot easier to scold over equipment losses then over the wounds that the double-ohs came back with. At least that put him in a position where he could be dismissed as an irritating young man instead of one who felt a bit too much then his position should allow for.

“Please try to spread your work ethic along to your fellows, won’t you.” Once more, brown eyes went back to his computer in an effort to dismiss the man. “And do try to actually rest after this mission, 003. You need it.”

James came up behind Q and hugged him, nuzzling. Sebastian was gone, out working and James was happy to have some alone time. "Would you like to take a bath? Like old times?"

Smiling, Q leaned back against James’s chest and rested hishands on the other specter’s arms. “I’d love to,” he agreed then laughedquietly. “If by, “old times”, you mean having to take another bath after thefirst because of your wandering hands…” His tone showed he didn’t mind even asQ turned in James’s arms and wrapped his own around his lover. “At leastbathtubs can be filled faster in this time.”

James hummed happily at the memories of those times. “Ah those days, trying to keep everything a secret, unable to stop touching each other…” A grin broke across his face suddenly and he kissed Q deeply. “I seem to distinctly remember a time I couldn’t go more than 3 days if I was home, without you in my mouth. And I showed it by wrapped my lips around you after everyone had gone at the agency.” His smirk was absolutely devious. That was one of the best memories he had of doing those things. Especially in the agency. “But you are right about the bathtubs in this time…maybe we’ll only need one bath.”

Q had returned the kiss happily as his fingers laced together behind James’s neck. “Of course you would remember that,” he said and rolled his eyes even as his cheeks heated up. He remembered it too. “Maybe? Who are you and what have you done with my James Bond?” Pulling back a little, he grinned before looping his arm with James’s and beginning to steer them both towards the bathroom. “It’s nice now. Not having to hide, I mean.” He liked this new time where the people were much more accepting than their own had been. Of course, there were some rather glaring exceptions but he was satisfied for what they had.

"That one, just there." He motioned to the tall building a few feet from them. By now people were starting to gather around the crumpled mess an the ground. Jack rested his mobile against his ear, informing them that they’d need an ambulance. He’d disappear before they could question why he’d shot the man. He’d place a call to his friends at Scotland Yard later and explain. The man wasn’t going anywhere for a long while. 

"Shall we?" He asked as he pulled open the door to the hotel, allowing Ben inside. "I’m buying food, and a change of clothes from the shop if they have your size." He might as well, he wasn’t going to spend the money on anything but booze.

Trying to bite back another sigh, Benjamin let himself be led inside and frowned again. On the one hand, his pride stung a bit at having some stranger buy things for him. On the other, he was more than fine receiving things for free. Well, they could be free. He wasn’t entirely sure what this man’s angle was but he hoped it wasn’t a crooked one.

“Fine. Whatever you like.” He rubbed at his eyes irritably. His contacts would need to be removed soon. He also wanted to wash his face off of makeup and then get into his pajamas before curling into his bed. “I still don’t see why you’re helping me.” Benjamin knew he should say “thank you” but he still felt too irate to do so. Maybe when he was actually in the cab and didn’t think the man would shoot him.

Jack could have rolled his eyes, and he rather felt like doing so. Instead, he just sighed. “I am a soldier. I’m trained not to react.” He said slowly, building excuses in his head. “I only shot him in the leg and-” He took his mobile from his pocket, holding up the 999 number on the screen. “I Was jsut about to call him an ambulance. I’m not heartless.”

Well, not completely at least. 

"I’m suggesting you come to the hotel lobby, get some food, let them clear up that mess and I’ll call you a cab." He extended the jacket again. "Because I wouldn’t have shot him if I Wasn’t concerned for your safety. He got less than he deserved for what he thought about doing to you."

“Oh, a trained murderer then. Well done indeed.” He glanced at Jack’s cellphone then looked down at other man and was tempted to kick him in the face. Maybe next time though he fervently hoped there wouldn’t be a next time between them.

Sighing heavily at being indebted to someone, Benjamin once again accepted the coat and folded it around himself. “What hotel were you thinking of?” he asked and looked away from the one on the ground. “It’s an occupational hazard, really.” Which was easier to say than to acknowledge he’d been utterly terrified on the inside and would continue to be for the rest of the week.

Q sighed in quiet relief before shaking his head. “No, you’renot,” he said with a small incline of his head. It looked like the procedurehad worked. It’s better this way, he reminded himself. Such a luxury to be ableto forget. She’ll be safer this way. “If you’ll follow Ms. Darling over there,she will lead you out, Ms. Moran.”

Holding the coat in his arm, Jack watched Ben start to walk away. At first, he thought he should let him go. He didn’t much care what happened to one man, did he? No, people were terrible. They all left in the end. After a moment he sighed and shifted, the Doctor’s voice echoing in his ears. 

'You can't just walk away, Jack.'

No, he couldn’t. “Wait a second.” He called out, stepping forward. “IF you go walking around like that, a PC’s going to pick you up for sure.” He shifted, arms crossed with the jacket in his hand. “That man’s fine, but I get the feeling you wont be if they take you in and charge you.”

Benjamin froze at that comment and nearly ground his teeth. Dammit. Dammit, dammit, dammit! He should have just stayed home that night. His mirror had cracked that afternoon while he was applying his makeup and he should have taken that for the sign it was. Now he was mixed up in some even worse business than usual. Dammit!

Slowly, he turned to face Jack and scowled as he folded his shirt over his chest and then crossed his arms over that. “And what are you suggesting I do exactly?” he asked. “Follow after the nutter that just shot a man without any sort of reaction?” Then again, said nutter might decide to pull the gun out on him in the middle of the street too. He didn’t seem to have any qualms about doing so earlier and he probably wouldn’t for someone like Benjamin. “Why do you even want me to come?”
