7 of us set out for 3 nights at Wintertux early this March, most of us being apprehensive of the conditions due to roughly 3 weeks of very little snow and unseasonably high temps. We were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of good snow on the northerly aspects just a short sled/skin away from the well situated cabin. Everyone's expectations of the riding conditions and accessible terrain were widely exceeded. It was definitely too much to cover on a 3 day visit, and I'm looking forward to getting back to explore and find more lines. The cabin itself had everything we needed, the woodstove cranks and there was plenty of room for 7 of us to lounge around. The kitchen was dialed in with everything we needed and the outdoor grill and the new Traeger BBQ are a nice addition. Cory and Scott are excellent hosts and have done well setting up Wintertux up with everything you need to check out this sick little corner of Idaho backcountry. This one is going on the regular list of backcountry my destinations.
