Fan Fiction and historical accuracy

Ok, slight rant and maybe I am being very nit-picky but for me historical inaccuracies are very hard to ignore. Currently reading a fic that takes place in 1890 and on character took multiple transatlantic commercial flights between North America and Europe which, no, first flight was until the early 1900s (commercial and transatlantic/continental flights would come out years/decades later) also, the author had another character use the term 'freudian slip' which is a term based of a theory Sigmund Freud wrote it a book that was also published in the early 1900s(I am also assuming the term Freudian slip didn't become mainstream until decades after the book's publishing). I know this is such a bs thing to complain about but ughhhhhhhhhh its just a pet peeve of mine idk.

Bug Bites

This had to have happened at least once right? Like they would’ve had to travel through an area that has lots of bugs? Like they would have had to go through that? And Gyro would have no clue?
