I think Kaufmo is one of the most tragic characters in The Amazing Digital Circus. Even though we barely get to know him, his abstraction sets the tone for the series and shows what's at stake. I don't really see his story as a plot hole—most of the unanswered questions feel intentional and will probably be explored later.
