Thinking about how Rafayel is probably her dream come true.
Because sure. He's annoying. And whiny. And overdramatic. Yet, he's also WANTING to be protected. Even if he doesn't nessicarilly need it.
But... just how many times has she wanted to protect Caleb? How many times has she wished to keep Xavier safe on a mission, or take care of Zayne, or help watch Sylus' back?
And it's a fuss. Everytime. Them reassuring her they're fine. That they're more worried about keeping her safe. Even though she's fine and they're the ones scuffed up.
It's an ordeal. A game of back and forth that she can never actually win. And she just... doesn't get it. She's strong. She's trained for this. Why does no one... trust her to watch them?
Then he's there. Voice playful as they walk down the shore. He's going on and on, and her watch beeps, and he's behind her. Watching her back. Yes, but...
"Cutie its there! Get it!!"
And she does. He helps a bit, but its mostly her doing the fighting. Afterwards, he checks if she's okay, and when she asks him the same, he nods. "Yeah. All thanks to you." He smiles.
Thinking about how... giddy, she must be after every encounter with danger with Rafayel. How, finally, finally someone trusts her enough to not completely baby her. And how that alone is probably worth more than anything he's paying her.
