But he’s NOT! He’s killing for his family!!! Human meat is normal to him!!! He’s using the masks to express himself!!! He’s not a sicko, he’s just resourceful!!! He’s being abused!!! He’s a people-pleaser!!! He’s neurodivergent!!! He’s probably genderqueer!!! How can you watch the first movie and NOT see he’s just a sweetheart trying his best in a fucked up environment???

i love how richie gets shown up like every two seconds in the book. trying to show bev his yoyo and she immediately puts him to shame with how cool and effortless her yoyo skills are. tries to be pretentious to ben about his music taste and mike starts rattling off ten artists richie hasn't heard of humbling him instantly. shows concern for eddie and bill swoops in with the "i'll protect you" 💪. half the times he tells jokes stan steals the punchline and is 10x funnier than him. he is canonically the worst at slingshotting. this is my failfriend richie and he WILL be outdone
