Izuku woke up extra early that next morning with a determined mindset. He packed Yuuto's lunch, and cooked breakfast for the both of them, having a mini breakdown about his son growing up. He called off work just for today so he could devote all his time into making sure this was a good day for his son.
After packing lunches and fixing breakfast, Izuku got Yuuto up and ready for school, the house filled with the young boy's excited chatter about what he think school will be like and how many new friends he'll make.
The drive to his school consisted of upbeat songs and questions after questions.
"Daddy, what do you think I'll learn?" Yuuto asked excitedly.
"Mmm..I don't know. Most likely the alphabet and how to count numbers." Izuku replied calmly. Yuuto squealed happily.
"What do you think my teacher is like? Do you think they'll be nice? Have you met my teacher?" Izuku let out a soft chuckle, no doubt seeing the resemblance of him in his son, of his curiosity and wonder about everything.
"I don't know Yuu. I haven't met your teacher just yet. I'll be meeting them the same time as you, but there's no doubt they'll be nice." Izuku said reassuringly.
Yuuto seemed content with his answer, and the rest of the ride was spent listening to the music in a peaceful atmosphere.
Arriving at the school, Izuku carefully unbuckled Yuuto out his car seat, grabbing his bag and lunchbox. Izuku did a once over his son, making sure he looked presentable before snapping thousands of pictures of him, holding back an ocean of tears in the process.
Walking over to the entrance of the school, it was flooded with nervous, and ecstatic parents who gave judgmental and sympathetic stares as he walked by, while their children were tripping over themselves to get noticed by the number one hero.
After going through the last excruciating twenty minutes of the excited chatter of children and doting parents. Izuku finally was able to make it inside the school and find the board with all the classrooms. He analyzed the information while Yuuto bounced excitedly.
"Ms.(L/n).." Izuku murmured softly. "Room 203. Okay Yuu, let's go meet your new teacher!" Izuku said excitedly, lifting the boy up into his strong arms and carrying him down the hall.
Izuku wasn't ready. At all. He didn't expect his son's pre-k teacher to be this gorgeous. Her fluffy cardigan that clung to her body, paired with jeans that matched perfectly, her haired styled just right with shoes to match every piece of jewelry that coated her skin like a second layer. Izuku felt like his middle school self all over again, cheeks hot, heart racing, head spinning. He felt his ears ringing as she approached him with a warm smile.
"Good morning! I'm so glad you could make it today. I'm your child's teacher for this year, Ms.(L/n). And don't worry, I'll make sure to give you a report of everything we did today." She said sweetly, bending down to take Yuuto's bag and lunchbox. Izuku stared at her wide-eyes before composing himself.
"I'm so sorry! Where are my manners? I'm Izuku, Izuku Midoriya. And this is my son Yuuto.." He said quickly, internally feeling embarrassed.
She laughed softly, shaking Izuku's hand. "Well hello Mr. Midoriya and Mr. Yuuto! I'm excited for what this year has in store for us. Are you ready to start class?" She asked excitedly.
Yuuto squealed happily quickly taking off to claim his seat that had his name tag on the desk. But, he quickly did a double take to give his Dad one more hug.
"Love you Daddy, see you later!" Yuuto chirped happily. Izuku held back his waterfall of tears, sniffling.
"I love you too Bud, have fun okay?" He said shakily.
Yuuto let out a bright smile before nodding and running off to play. (Y/n) watched the tender moment, smiling softly.
"I can tell he's a good kid. You're doing a good job." She said genuinely, hoping that her tiny bit of encouragement would help the hero, especially doing this rough time. Izuku smiled in response, wiping away the tears that slipped.
"Thanks, I appreciate that Ms.(L/n).." He said gently before shuffling on his feet. "I better get going now, you must have a busy day I assume."
(Y/n) nodded in agreement. "I do, dealing with fifteen toddlers is not for the weak. I made sure my coffee was extra strong this morning." She said teasingly, causing them both to laugh. Izuku spoke up after a few minutes. "Thank you again, I trust my son is in safe hands." (Y/n) smiled again. "And thank you Mr.Midoriya for trusting me."
They both shook hands once again, this time Izuku let his grip linger for a while before pulling away and leaving with a smile, giving Yuuto a thumbs up before he left.
Izuku finally sat in the silence of his car, his heart pounding in his chest as his head spun lightly. What was going on? Surely he wasn't falling for his son's teacher. Was he?
