Hi... It’s been...over a year. I had a baby, he’s almost one. He’s pretty great. He’s spent his first year sickly (nothing serious, minor surgery to fix) but he’s finally starting to feel better.

Anonymous Twitter user @FellyThelly blew up their (apparent) employer’s spot the other day when they posted photos of anti-union training materials from Office Depot. Later, they acquired the entire manual from another employee, titled, “Labor Relations Training for Office Depot Supervisors and Managers.” The user compiled the tweet thread into the Imgur post below.

I still have a copy of the t*rget team lead guide to dealing with union activity that I nicked from the office when I worked there, it’s mostly the same stuff but it also revealed just how much of their management tactics were intended to frustrate any unionizing activity. For instance, they said that cross-training in multiple departments was the best way to get reliable hours, and encouraged everyone to do it; according to the manual, however, it was their way of keeping departments mixed up and jumbled, making it impossible for any single department to unionize (and forcing anyone who wanted to unionize to get the entire store to do it).
And that’s just part what the store managers are taught. Throughout, it mentions holding off on action and consulting a labor relations officer in the company on how to proceed. Who knows what kind of shady shit the people a step above do?
If you’re in retail and wondering how to go about unionizing, contact an existing retail workers union.

They are all very familiar with the anti-union tactics of retail owners and managers, and will have some advice for you, some literature to distribute, and strategies to counter these tactics. It has historically been extremely hard for retail and fast food employees to unionize specifically because the owners and managers keep us scared, disorganized, and are happy to fire us for unionizing, labor laws be damned. Their entire business model hinges on us being overworked and underpaid. Contact a union for help organizing in your store.
And don’t forget the IWW! THEY HAVE A CHAPTER FOR EVERYTHING.
Just an FYI most places ((big box stores)) make you sign an agreement when you get a job that FORBIDS you from unionizing. If you do, you will be terminated. Just watch your backs guys.

In light of the recent events, I think that our community should do our part to send healing, hope, and positivity to Jewish witches and all Jews.
Say a prayer, send good energy, cast a spells, ect for them, and like/reblog afterwards to signify that you’ve done so. Hopefully seeing a lot of this post will make them feel supported and know they’re cared about and in our hearts at this time.
As someone with Jewish relatives and friends, this is truly heartbreaking to see and I’m so sorry these horrible moments keep popping up. However, we are here for you and please don’t be afraid to come and vent and talk and cry. We cry with you. We love and support you no matter what. 💕 You are still our friends and family and we will fight for you.

if a teenager is at your door and they are wearing a costume!! please give them candy!! they are still in it for the halloween spirit and it honestly no different from a little kid in a costume. they are just as excited and happy as all the other lil tykes and dont you dare tell them they are “too old for trick-or-treating” because that will literally break their hearts and that’s not cool.

You can’t tell how old a kid is just by looking. I’ve known multiple 5th graders who were taller than I am, and I’m 25 years old. With their faces hidden by masks, you won’t be able to tell they’re elementary schoolers, but they still are.
Lots of older siblings are expected to take their younger siblings trick-or-treating, and they only get paid in candy.
You don’t know if that teenager is developmentally disabled.
You don’t know if that teenager spent most of their childhood in a hospital or sick and has never had the traditional trick-or-treat experience before.
You don’t know if this is that teenager’s first Halloween in America, and they just want to experience a piece of American culture.
You don’t know if that teenager ever gets candy any other day of the year.
You don’t know if that teenager has eaten anything at all today.
And those are just things I can think of off the top of my head.
and even if it is just a bored 16/17 year old out trying to see what free shit they can get. is it really gonna kill you to give them a fun sized milky way from the multipack you bought at poundland? That thing didn’t even cost you 5p, just give the kid the sugar, say “nice costume”, and let it go.
There are worse things a teenager could be doing on Halloween instead of trick-or-treating.
Please don’t do this stuff! This has happened too many times to other kids in my area and it’s the most saddening shit to see happen especially to 14-15 year-olds!!
I do the “Oh thank God you’re here” and literally DUMP the rest of the candy in their bags. Every.Year.
