Broad shoulders and brisk pace, his presence alone made others part out of the way nervously. Spreading like pigeons at the slightest step. And pigeons, exactly, is how he thought of them.Â
Though his eyes no further form than the ones naturally on his face, should he stare at anyone, the rest of the collective instinctively stares, too. Instinct is it; as he is now, the beasts cannot sense what he doesnât notice himself. And so they all focus on the same thing as he does.Â
Like a large crowd trying to peer through the same small glass window.Â
He expects the human to shuffle away like the rest, and instead, he seems to offer him food. Barely noticeable, the beastly mud of his body lurches from his back over his shoulder. Like the bulge of a desert reptile under black sand. He rubs at it with one hand, as if soothing a muscle, and it disappears underneath.Â
Sure, why not entertain the other. Heâs stayed in his place, and the beasts could use something to chew on, as it could barely be considered sustenance.Â
While he unwraps it somewhat meticulously, itâs easily gone in a few bites between rows of sharp teeth. Barely any chewing done in between. Nrvnqsrâs expression shows even heâs a bit surprisedâand amusedâit was taken in by the beasts so quickly.Â
âDid I look famished, to you?âÂ
how fortunate, leo thought to himself, that he had not jumped to conclusions and steered clear of the stranger. certainly he did look frightening, but looks could be very deceiving -- leo of all people knew that much -- and maybe this guy was tired of people constantly shifting away from him, being terrified of him. humans could really be bastards sometimes.
easing up surprisingly easily, leo offered the stranger a smile as the burger seeming small in his hands was all but devoured and he couldnât help but shiver a little as a row of sharp teeth presented themselves, further adding to the image of a thoroughly bad guy the other gave off. man, some people were just not lucky, huh? sometimes the genetic pool was genuinely unfair, as it had been when it came to leoâs height he thought to himself.
posed with a question back, the teen tilted his head. honestly he hadnât thought much about such things. ânot really no,â he replied genuinely without putting much thought to his words.
honestly it was a valid question. not everyone would just casually offer up their food to any random stranger without any purpose or thought behind it, but that was exactly the case here. âi guess if anything...â he began thoughtfully, eyeing the other over with a squint. âit kind of bothered me that everyone seems to avoid you? i donât like stuff like that.â
speaking his thoughts leo became a bit embarrassed. âah, thereâs not really much to it or anything, i just donât like it when people judge others without even knowing the person...â shifting awkwardly he fumbled with the wrapping of his own burger. âbeside, i think burgers taste better if you eat them with someone else!â
