Beauty

What is beauty? 

Beauty is defined as attractiveness, appeal, charm and grace. We consider someone as a ‘beautiful person’ if this person is good looking in our eyes. But the way most people perceive this beauty was unconsciously programmed by our enviromment.In our generation, social media plays an enormous role in our perception of beauty. 

I used to feel ugly for my flat chest, my dark skin and my long skinny legs. As scrolling down my instagram I was always remainded that I didn’t had Kim Kardashians Butt, Beyoncés light skin and beautiful hips or Kylie Jenners big breasts. Every post nourished my believe that I wasnt beautiful enough to be even looked at... I wasn’t beautiful enough to please anyone... 

During a long time, I searched for the true meaning of beauty, of attractiveness. I found out that beauty is way more than just what social media glorifies as beautiful or ‘goals’.

 Beauty is kindness, generosity,love. 

Beauty is melanin and freckles. 

Beauty is curly kinky hair and long grey hair. 

Beauty is poetry, wisdom and knowledge. 

Beauty is God and the undestanding of his word. 

Beauty is passion.
