He's seemingly unfazed by her disapproval. Emboldened by it, even. "Well, I'd be disappointed if you had." Swooned, that is. "You were supposed to flip the script." He brings his glass to his lips. Lupin hadn't expected her to take him seriously. In a sense, she was. Who could say? Regardless of her standpoint, it didn't affect him one way or another. She certainly hadn't gone for the cliche route, and that alone made it interesting enough. For now, anyway.

"In all fairness, I did say you were 'one-of-a-kind" he countered, as he tilts his head. "In fact, I'd argue that the only one doing any selling here is–" he points a finger to her, breaking to drink from his glass. "Why deny yourself the compliment?" he challenges. "Respectfully..." his tone continued to betray him of any sign of authenticity. "You're selling yourself short, respectfully."

Ging/Pregnancy Stone - its a thing and im kind of convinced

Ging/Belldandy - ok but if it wasnt the pregnancy stone, then gon's real mom is an actual goddess. @sorrowmarked and i have connected all the dots. but also, this ship offers so much nuance to ging's character. there is soo much about ging's character that is overlooked, and writing this au backstory gave me the room to really expand on those aspects of ging gahh! <3

Ging/Pakunoda – this crackship @rottingkiss & i came up with. attacking and kidnapping his son isn't a dealbreaker, obviously. LOL.

Ging/Pariston – intense mind games LOL, they think about each other too much. the manga especially 👀👀

Korra/Asami – is this even a bias?? They both make each other feel SEEN and HEARD <3 emotional connection >>> Korra/Mako – Just gonna share my two cents bc this is an unusual one.. LMFAO. I weirdly enjoy Korra's dynamics with people who kinda challenge her/call her out?? lolol. They were a hot mess but their dynamic always stood out to me. I saw a similar dynamic between Korra and Toph. I definitely can be the first to say that balancing those type of dynamics out with personalities like Asami and Tenzin (who are mostly firm, but gentle) are very much needed, but, man, there's just something about mutually seeing one another at their good, bad and ugly, and still being able to love and accept each other in spite of that. as well as GROWING throughout experiences together. At this point in canon, I do like them better as very close friends though.

He'd skimmed through the documents just a few moments prior to meeting her. Both, the intel, as well as an off-the-record memo Franky had slipped into the manilla envelope. The memo had been nothing more than some scattered notes about the woman he was meeting here. Granted, he expected a colorful personality. Twiligadapts to the less than formal greeting, observing her surveying gaze.

He merely stands put with an unreadable expression crossing his face for a second. Out of sheer respect, he maintains his formal composure, simply acknowledging her words with a nod. "Yes, we will be working together." his words sounding pleasantly forced. "As for your concerns–" A beat passes, and his lips curve upwards to a small smile. "I've always found it's competence, that determines one's ability." he smoothly counters. "–not age."

There's a light smile that falls on her face then. It makes her happy to hear him say that. It's the simplicity of those words that make her feel like she's doing a good job as a mother and a wife. Even if this all was fake, except for part of her that has come to the conclusion of these feelings that have somehow surfaced. "That's good to hear. I worry sometimes that I may not be doing the best job." Yor admits. But that was her own insecurity weighing in. Sometimes she couldn't get that insecurity to fade away.

Although as she looked up at him and saw that smile she always felt so at ease. Yor thought of his smile as adorable and she wish she could see more of it. Her hand takes a hold of his arm as she smiled back at him. "We shall."

He blinks once, then a second time, studying her features as she expresses her hesitation. Hints of doubt occasionally popped up every so often – to which, he’d gladly give affirmation to. Every single time.  “You’re doing more than enough, Yor.”  He flashes a grin that conveyed the utmost reassurance, his tone continuing.  “Both Anya and I appreciate you very much – especially after all you’ve done.”  Some validation for her to give herself the credit she rightfully deserved.  “And, I … should express my gratitude more often.” He shares a passing thought. A minor thought sits on the back of his mind … wondering if there was some correlation to how often he treated her to these special nights out.  Going forward, he’d make a point to allot more effort and time for them.  

As she links her arm with his, the two set off towards all the other amusements the festival had to offer.  They were off to a good start for the night. Typically, he planned these things out, with careful thought and consideration, but this had been an impromptu night out. Which, meant he was short of his usual itinerary. They were ... having fun despite the fair's allure for younger children.  Which made this ‘winging it’ thing work. Amidst their aimless strolling, he finally intervenes, “Was there anything in particular you wanted to see tonight?”
