I love remembering how Akutagawa reacted to Atsushi before he threw that phone(-the Kyouka event)

He really liked it when Atsushi got mad at him.

Plus this moment during the Kyouka event(does this arc have a name?)

I think the funniest part of Yin & Yang is that Akutagawa did NOT mean to leave that much of an impact on Atsushi.

Akutagawa started their whole thing by trying to kill Atsushi, not thinking much about it until Dazai started to rub Atsushi in his face. Of course Akutagawa eventually came to somewhat like/appreciate Atsushi I’d say mainly through his influence on Kyouka, but still Akutagawa doesn’t particularly care that much about making an impact on Atsushi. He didn’t want to that much nor did he try.

And then we have Atsushi who has been clinging onto every single word this man has said to him since they met. It is actually insane how much Atsushi cares about Akutagawa’s opinions. At first it was because he sort of reminded him of the headmaster and Akutagawa took the tormentor role in Atsushi’s life and then I’d say it was the guild arc when Akutagawa became something separate and since then Atsushi looks for Akutagawa in pretty much everything he does. That man has an OBSESSION with Akutagawa’s character.

It was already there before Akutagawa’s sacrifice but then that happened and it got even worse. Now he’s clinging onto the dead man who never had a single actual positive moment with(beyond Atsushi’s own mind in which he started to sort of view Akutagawa as a comfort or grounding person) and questioning literally everything about their relationship.

Then Atsushi literally SACRIFICES HIMSELF for Akutagawa and TURNS BACK TIME WHEN HE LEARNS THAT HE DIED AGAIN.

Seriously that move cannot be explained to be for literally anyone else since Akutagawa was the only one who actually died by Ame-no-gozen.

Akutagawa did NOT mean to be this important in Atsushi’s life to the point WHERE HE TIME TRAVELS FOR HIM.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL MAN.

Point is Atsushi gained an emotional attachment to Akutagawa unhealthily fast when that was not in Akutagawa’s murder plans and now Atsushi is willing to bend reality for this guy and it’s arguably hilarious.

It feels so weird to see a gender bend of a male character being female and suddenly they’re wearing shorts or a skirt.

I’m sorry to tell you all but a man can wear shorts, and they do it pretty often.

For some reason I tend to think of Bram as Akutagawa’s Rimbaud. I don’t think it really fits but that’s just how I process it.

With as much bsd fan content I see I feel it isnt a reach to say the show and fandom as whole has one specific artist everyone collectively associates at least one of their songs with one character.

Predictably it’s Malice Mizer.

I’ve seen yin & yang edits, mushimizo edits, Akutagawa edits, Bram edits, Fyodor edits, Atsushi edits. Plus more, all with Malice Mizer songs.

I hate it when I read a fanfic and I start to like one of the ocs. I don’t read oc fics unless the oc is just there to advance the plot and sometimes they make the ocs TOO DANG LIKEABLE.

My favourite thing phanpara gave us is the fact that apparently Fushiguro also likes some garbage movies.

Just a different type of garbage movie than Itadori, considering the movie they saw was one Itadori didn’t like.

So Itadori likes movies in general including stuff like human earthworm(which Fushiguro & Kugisaki find weird), Fushiguro like documentaries and a different type of garbage movie(that Kugisaki & Itadori both judged him for liking), and seemingly Kugisaki is the only normal one.

I look at the eating disorder tag for bsd on ao3 with the knowledge that Dazai and Chuuya will be the most used characters despite the fact that there are multiple characters in the series who canonically have one.

I know he technically might not but with how we sometimes get dialogue from Gin worrying about if he’s eaten that day and the fact that we know he doesn’t eat more than is strictly necessary for his body to function, plus his weight I’d say pretty confidently Akutagawa has an eating disorder.

Plus Kenji and his literal skill.

And before anyone talks about how unhealthy Dazai was in the port mafia, he’s gained weight since joining the ada. He is explained to be healthier in quite literally every way since joining the ada.

Someone make Fu Orostor meet Yaga Masamichi.

If you don’t get it, Yaga’s entire character revolves around creating autonomy, which is reflected in his rebellious students and his sentient dolls. Mix that Fu who isn’t willing to make a decision on his own for fear of responsibility and I think it makes a wholesome and pretty healthy dynamic.

I’m gonna be honest, Kokichi Muta is so lucky he likes mechs.

Like, imagine if he was like that and he didn’t like watching a ton of animes about giant robots so he just never gets inspired to make his own to move in.

And I know that curse techniques are defined by your very soul which reflects your interests which is why he got puppet manipulation in the first place, but still.

He could of course be like Yaga where he uses stuffed animals instead but the mechs better.

I want a spider-man Itadori itafushi au where instead of Fushiguro being MJ he’s Chat(that one girl who could talk to animals) because their relationship was cute.

Also cause taking away Fushiguro’s connection to his animals feels weird especially when everybody only gives him his dogs in modern aus when he also loves his other shikigami like Nue(I just want more Orochi content.)

Actually it’s a spider-man au, why even take away his powers? It’d be interesting to see an au where he just spends the whole fic gaslighting everyone into thinking his pets are absolutely real animals and having a gigantic snake or a bird with a bone mask and human teeth is actually just some exotic animal he got his hands on because he’s rich. These animals are absolutely real, he does not know what Itadori Is talking about when he thought he saw a pink elephant in his backyard one time, elephants don’t come in pink.

He’s way too stealthy and sometimes his shadow seems to be moving weird? Trick of the eyes. He knows how to fight with a sword? He had an interest in weapons and he learnt martial arts. The sword he fought with came out of nowhere? There was no sword, it was actually a dagger kept hidden for self-defence.

I like thinking that the Fushiguro household just like, never had lights on.

Gojo has incredibly sensitive eyes even taking away 6 eyes because of how blue is more sensitive to light.

Fushiguro literally has shadow powers and in the manga he has green eyes, which are also sensitive to light, even in the anime it’s blue instead.

Tsumiki just noticed how sensitive everyone’s eyes were and so she left the lights off all the time and just adapted.

Even Toji is more used to the dark because of his green(or blue) eyes, which is a trait most Zen’ins share, so the inside of the clan house is darker than most places.

I think the Zen’ins having such a connection to the dark is interesting and I’d like to think in canon that it’s reflected in their biology.
