Ode To The End. In Progress.

Ode to the end. misleading the stars, breaking down the foundations of ancestral teachings, as you joined the dots to our meeting. torturing, jealousy, neglect, devotion and lies. Trip me over and tell me I'm ok as I lie on the brink of your respect. Scold me for the boys that speak, Hurt me when your mind wanders the unknown, searching for the things I have done to you. As our insecurities meet. We believed we had fooled the stars, wrapped the wool around our ancestors eyes. We were in love but our loved died. and whilst the stars still shine, I sit dazed and confused in the your emptiness.

Make/Believe: UK Design for Performance 2011-2015

‘An Exhibition displaying the diversity of performance design over the last four years and feature work that defines the edges of this global art-form. It will include designs across disciplines – from opera, dance, theatre, to pop music– and across contexts and platforms.’ http://www.vam.ac.uk/whatson/event/4414/makebelieve-uk-design-for-performance-2011-2015-222474108/ I was involved in the setting up of the Exhibition, helping to make sure it was ready in time for the opening night. Exhibiting work from some of my inspirers and the biggest names in theatre design.

‘BookStory’

Working with Monstro Theatre I gained experience in Sound Operating with Qlab for their touring show ‘The Book Story’. Performing over England I joined them for London, Trestle, Norwich and Brighton. It was highly enjoyable experience working alongside Ben Glasstone, Karina Garnett, Philp Bosworth and Gilbert Taylor.

7am start in Regents Park to be art director Liz Young's assitant for the filming of 'A School Of Youtube' in aid of comic relief. I was involved with such a great team, worked hard and had a lot of fun and I really hope to get involved with PEEK films again!

The set for the Head Masters office, Liz and I were in charge of props, making sure nothing went wrong while the shoot took place there was one other room designed to look the same as Fluer de Force's room.

The Bearded Kitten Manor - Lovebox Festival

I assisted designer Hannah Bunn to build and create a stage for a company renowned for their work around festivals 'Bearded Kitten'. The stage was designed to look like the sketch below drawn by Hannah Bunn herself you can find more of her work here.

The Master and Margarita

Speculative design for a site specific performance of one of my favorite books Master and Margarita  Set in and around the park tunnel in Nottingham an extraordinary space here are some of my costume designs

Margarita's Costume inspired by Leonora Carringtons 'The Ancestor' representing how Margarita is imprisoned by marriage 

Wolands Gang.

Woland's Army. In the book Woland can metamorphose into a black poodle being site specific I used the Nottingham Coat of arms as a base using the deer to represent Woland instead of a black poodle.

The base of my design is around the fact that he is recalling a memory and how distorted and surprisingly inaccurate memory can be creating a surreal abstract world, breaking the boundaries of the traditional showing of a classic.
