Got no link to canon but here I am writing a headcanon / idea.

As expected for nobles where he lived , Camus had been engaged since a young age to someone within another noble family of permafrost. He didn’t understand why at that age but agreeded since his father appeared to know what was going on and had the best intentions. Just before leaving to head for Japan he’d married the fiancé whilst staying there just for a little while. Then of course left without a word.

More when he’s the idol people know , Camus has to seem like he is not taken as per the rules of the contract to start with. He had to stop wearing his wedding ring but ended up not writing back home to check up on them or for some conversation between them both. He’s completely distanced himself.
