The language of vision, optical communication, is one of the strongest potential means both to reunite man and his knowledge and to re-form man into an integrated being. Visual communication is universal and international: it knows no limits of tongue, vocabulary, or grammar, and it can be perceived by the illiterate as well as by the literate. Visual language can convey facts and ideas in a wider and deeper range than almost any other means of communication. It can interpret the new understanding of the physical world and social events because dynamic interrelationships and interpenetration. Vision is primarily a device of orientation; a means to measure and organise spatial events.

Mexico Day 1

We arrived at Ajijic, for a 10 day trip to study the architecture of Luis Barragan, thanks to technology I don't have to memorise the dates, and the date stamp tells me that this happened on February 18 2010, this was the first moment during the trip we got to turn around after the group spent the whole day travelling, Boston to Houston to Guadalajara via plane, to get vans to drive to Ajijic. always moving forward until this moment at lake Chapala.

While Drawing this now, I remember some of the things I was told by my instructor on later travels, this is that most of my sketches are "pretty" meaning they are more like pictures and that I should focus on details and annotations, to make then more like architectural sketches, I'll work on that for the blog.

Traveling back into old travels

This is an attempt to gather and organise memories from old trips, starting with memories of Mexico, continuing to Europe for the first time, moving on to Europe for the second time for a long time, and on to today. An attempt to do, what I should had done then, but I guess I wasn't  smart enough to document the moments eloquently, and now I have to try and do it by memory, before i begin to forget. An attempt to simplify things. an attempt to sketch, to draw, to narrate stories and history.  Expect mistakes and ugly drawings, hopefully with time... they will get better... hopefully.
