Dude why is there art discourse on Twitter every week that’s just some artist giving very, very obvious general art advise and everyone decides to go purposefully out of their way to read it as them breaking into their house, condemning them to hell and kicking their dog on the way out

Twitter artist: Here’s some quick, general art advice that helped me out in learning and I want it to help you out too! I know it might not be applicable for what you want to make (because the creation of art can vary greatly from person to person), but I’m sure you can understand me presenting a brief building block that might help someone who wants to use it!

Not to mention it gets extra weird when another artist pops in and says, “Oh this isn’t how I did it. Obviously this artist who made the tutorial is the literal devil and wants everyone’s artwork to look like shit! Here’s my tutorial and advice that if you follow you’ll be a waaay better artist than this chump :)”

I can understand being annoyed if the original artist is being actively hostile (ie. the “your art will look like shit no matter what if you don’t follow this advice!”) but I think there’s a big difference between that and someone genuinely presenting some advice that helped them personally grow as an artist
