I know that many distant or foreign observers of the situation in America right now believe that we're being lazy and apathetic about what's going on with the federal government, but I just want to say that I admire how smart protesters on the front lines (not just in currently besieged Minneapolis, but also Portland, LA, DC and every other city that has dealt with a deployment of any kind) have been. There is an intuitive and widespread understanding that the Trump administration is looking for violence so they can escalate, and Americans have not given them that. So others can say that it means we don't care, but I believe it shows how much we care, how deeply we understand the dangers here, and everyone who is in a place in this very large country who has had to physically confront this... you are doing the right thing and, American to American, I admire your efforts and love for your country.
