A dream.
DR. JULIA OGDEN in MURDOCH MYSTERIES 04.11
Queen.
Detective William Murdoch: I know the truth about myself, Miss James. And I know that no matter what someone might say or think about me, I must be the strongest and the best version of myself that I can possibly be.
Miss Rebecca James: So go along to get along?
Detective William Murdoch: No. No. Simply be better than anyone who might hate you.
Season 9, Episode 13
🤌🏾🤌🏾
MM Re-Watch #7
1. Forgot about good ol' Reginald Poundsett.
2. Ogden's purple outfit from Season 2, Ep 10 is 🔥
3. Ogden and Jasper Linney reciting poetry while Murdoch seethes will never cease to be funny.
4. When you consider his father, Murdoch being pretty normal is a miracle. The Jesuits did their thing I suppose.
5. Love Jasper's advice.
6. William once again not sticking up for Ogden when she needed his support. Eye roll.
Feeling nostalgic for the early seasons of Murdoch
MM Re-Watch #6
1. There are moments when Brackenreid catches Julia being a flirt and it makes me chuckle. I suppose it may be that a flirt recognizes and knows a flirt, so he's quick to call it out in the most subtle of ways. He's been doing it since Season 2.
2. Brackenreid has been helping Murdoch with wooing Ogden from the beginning. Didn't realize that before.
3. Ruby's dinner gown is stunning. The fabric flowers are truly incredible. Season 2, Ep 4.
4. Season 2, Ep 4 is my favorite of the season.
5. Ah, William and Julia newly in love. Adorable.
6. Enid has some mean girl energy. Not good with competition. Not a fan. Lol

Getting my mind off of the results of the US elections...
1. William eyeing Julia's posterior. 🤌🏾🤣
2. Ogden's hair being down was such a big deal.
3. Season 2 brings a much more glamorous Ogden in terms of costume, hair and make-up style. A lot more curls. An interesting turn.
4. Crabtree and Ogden have always been a great duo. You can tell they have a lot of fun in those moments.
5. We meet Margaret in Season 2, Ep 1. Our beloved Arwen.
6. The actress portraying Annie Oakley is incredible. I think she's my favorite historical character so far.
MM Re-Watch #4
1. Everytime Julia wears red it's the perfect shade for her complexion. The costume department of MM will always be geniuses in my book. True appreciation of color.
2. I love when all of the characters tease Murdoch about Ogden. So fun to see him consistently horrified. Lol
3. George trying to get on the horse. Silly fun.
4. Season 1, Ep 13 is my favorite episode from the season.
5. Terrance Meyers' first episode. Intelligent, quick, charming and slippery.
6. George getting involved in the paranormal. Classic.
MM Re-Watch #3
1. Julia was laying it ON in terms of flirting. *clutches pearls*
2. It could be said that William has been in love with Julia from Season 1, Ep 8
3. I've never noticed it, but they added Crabtree trembling with caffeine when Murdoch and him drink coffee for the first time. So funny.
4. There's a really beautiful scene between these two characters that is a treat to see again if you love historical fiction like I do. It's like your favorite book come to life. When William compliments Julia on her leaving what her family expected of her behind to persue a career in something she was truly talented and passionate about the energy is palpable. Excellent work by our actors here. William is finally truthful with her and shares his admiration for her.
5. Miss Pensall's obvious connection with William is palpable. In another timeline, they would have been an interesting pairing.
6. Miss Pensall and Julia's jealousy regarding the other's presence in William's life is a great bit of sparring to watch.
All I got. As you were.
MM Re-Watch #2
1. As much as Ogden relies on her logical mind in her professional work, at heart she is a true lover girl who feels everything so deeply.
2. Without Ogden there's no way that Murdoch would be the man he is today. From the very beginning she challenged his worldview and kept him on his toes. Even when he was in the dregs of his religion...before his deconstruction, their intellectual sparing was interesting to view.
3. George invents his first game (hangman) in Season 1, Ep 7. Logical King that he is.
4. Julia's Morgue Humor. Oof. Girl. Lol I had forgotten about how wonderfully cringey her sense of humor was in the beginning. Such a fun character quirk.
5. I wonder when William and Julia agreed or at least said they were comfortable with addressing one another by their first names? Another lovely little tidbit.
6. The lighting in the early episodes is really beautifully done. I'm sure it's because of the locations but post production lighting was really great for the time when Murdoch was first airing.
Got more. If there are actual answers to this statements, feel free to share or roll your eyes. Lol
Hello, tumblr user. Before you is a tumblr post asking you to name a female fictional character. You have unlimited time to tag a female character, NOT a male one.
Begin.
Check your boundaries.
Check your boundaries with others.
"No" is a complete sentence.
You don't have to say "yes" just because you fear confrontation.
You may assert your needs and wants, even (especially!) when they conflict with someone else's plans.
You may choose how much of your inner life to share with each of your friends.
You may choose to be more open with persons who demonstrate their respect for you.
You may choose to be less open with persons who take advantage of you.
You don't have to please others.
Past trauma does not justify present abuse.
You may choose your values.
You may choose how to live out your values.
Check your internal boundaries.
You can't regulate another person's feelings.
You don't have to regulate another person's feelings.
No one may impose their thoughts, feelings, or beliefs on you.
You may not always choose your own feelings. Your response to a new or uncomfortable situation may surprise you. That's okay.
You may always choose what you do with your feelings.
You deserve to express your feelings in healthy ways.
Your feelings are real.
Your feelings are valid.
Your feelings do not define you.
Your past actions do not define you.
Your trauma does not define you.
You may let go of old beliefs that no longer serve you or no longer align with your values.
You deserve a life that affirms your values and your identity.
You deserve relationships that affirm your values and identity.
