Diabetes is NOT a synonym for sugar. 371 million people on planet Earth are living with diabetes and they did NOT get it from drinking sweet tea. 

Diabetes is a life-threatening chronic illness due to the inability to use glucose properly. Whether it be not producing any insulin (type 1) or not utilizing the insulin produced (type 2), NEITHER TYPE IS CAUSED BY SUGAR.

If you’re going to blame sugar on something, pick cavities. The Streptococcus mutans in your mouth are going to love metabolizing that sugar into acid which will erode your teeth. Your pancreas is going to secrete the adequate amount of insulin to metabolize the sugar in your sweet tea.

Artist Paints the Universe and Nature into Black Women’s Hair

Pierre Jean-Louis is a multimedia artist based in New York and Philadelphia, who has built up quite a social media following as a result of his unique works. Jean-Louis paints mystical images of the universe and nature onto images of Black women’s natural hair. His intricate works feature flowers, vines, and even an entire forest, all seamlessly woven into coils and kinks. Jean-Louis even invites his followers to tag him in their photos on Instagram so that he can consider their portraits as well.
