โ โIf he and I shared feelings worth betting my life on, losing that would not affect the feelings we have toward each other.โ
i maybe crazy about this but deep down i know that after the Seddie's break up, Sam didn't stop loving Freddie. She loves him up until the iGoodbye episode and Sam&Cat #TheKillerTunaJump
During the iOpen A Restaurant s6:ep3 of iCarly, you can see the pain and confusion in her eyes when she asked Freddie if he has a new little crush on Carly.
Sam said she's exaggerating to make a point but i think it's true, Freddie is the only guy she ever loved.

"What did you put in the gauc, something to make us sleep?"
"No."
"Then eat some..."

Sam and Freddie from iCarly are NOT toxic. I've seen that argument used so many times and even Seddie shippers feel guilty shipping them because of it but that simply isn't true.
Are they majorly Problematic? Yes. But toxic? Maybe at a few points in the show but by the end of it, definitely not and especially not in the context of their relationship.
The whole reason why Sam and Freddie broke up was because they realized their own dysfunctionality. They weren't ready to handle a grown up relationship but the intensity of their feelings wouldn't allow for anything slower. So they decided to break up because they loved each other enough to know that putting themselves and their own growth first was the best way to love the other even if it broke their hearts.
I think it's one of the very nuanced things about them that even some shippers miss sometimes. Sam and Freddie were under no pretense that they had problems too big to make a relationship work at the time when they broke up. If they were, they would have never taken Carly's speech to Spencer and Jenna so personally and applied it to themselves unprovoked. They didn't break up because they were forcing a connection. They broke up because the connection they had was volatile and needed individual stability before they could keep it stable together. Instead of ignoring it, they acknowledged it and that's one of the most important things in any relationship. To look at it unobjectively in the face and acknowledge its ugly and volatile bits.
That does not seem like a toxic couple to me.
That is a very mature couple that understands that the relationship can't be a priority if the problems it has are too big to fix and contain. It's what makes the "I love you" scenes even more painful. Sam and Freddie are so so mature and their relationship is too because instead of pretending the problems weren't there, they tackled them head on. Even fully grown adult couples who are together for decades are unable and unwilling to properly acknowledge and communicate the ugly bits in their relationship and here Sam and Freddie, who are best friends and teenagers, did it despite how much pain it caused them.
They would have been toxic if they refused to acknowledge that they had problems. They would have been toxic if they had pretended their relationship could work with all the struggles in their personal and joint history. But they didn't! That's not toxic! That's healthy! Because they acknowledged it and attempted to fix it even if it hurt.
I haven't seen Sam and Cat but from what I know, by the time Sam and Freddie are implied to get back together, both of them have matured. Are they perfect? No. But no relationship really is. But are they in a better place than before to be able to maintain an adult relationship? Yes, I do think so.
Hence ends my argument that Sam and Freddie were never toxic. Problematic? Indeed. But toxic? Never. And their complexity and maturity in handling their issues is without a doubt one of my favorite things about them that I haven't seen in any other on-screen couple to date.
what year is it?
"If a guy wants a date with Mama, he should ask me."
"You swore we'd never do that again..."
That time Freddie inadvertently spilled the beans to Sam's sister. Her face in the last gif, an instant lightbulb turns on in her head lol ๐
So, i watched this video on YT. And I didn't have to think twice.
He love both of them but he definitely love SAM more.
For me, Carly is Freddie's ideal girl. That's why he fell for her the moment he saw her (talking about their conversation about love at first sight) He has a crush on her, yes, who wouldn't? Maybe that's why he clung to that feeling all those years because it wasn't easy to let go of your ideal girl. Or even the idea of having your ideal girl.
Meanwhile Sam, she's the opposite of Carly but Freddie still fell for her. Even after all those times that they hated each other, Sam constantly picking on him, beating him up, teasing him, he still fell for her, accepted all her flaws and chose to be with her. Why? Because he really loves Sam. I mean, why would you be with someone who's mean to you if you don't really love them? Are you fcking stupid? It wasn't hard for Freddie to reject Sam if he didn't really like her knowing that Carly doesn't even have a boyfriend that time too. But the moment Sam kissed him, it may or may have been the reason for him to know that he has a thing for her.
And also the "I love you" scene in the elevator really got me. That's the first time Freddie said those words that you can really feel the emotions behind. Sure, he said a lot of times that he loves Carly but not like the way he told Sam that he loves her.
Sorry but what Freddie felt for Carly was a mere puppy love for me. He may loved her, but not the way he loved Sam.
