A tiny tilt of his head, genuinely curious if this is all for the sake of a 'friend' or something far deeper. Especially considering the way he describes his 'group' for a lack of a better word.

".. I assume we're friends? You haven't told me otherwise... Do you want to be labeled different?" He doesn't care about what its is called, Marko just wants the boy in his life. Whatever label Orion wants to continue their relationship with is fine by him

"It's not that I want a label...it's more I feel like most normal 'friends' aren't a vampire and a warlock who also just finished sucking eachother off the night before..."

A soft blush as he was much more blunt then he was expecting. But he figured he needed to be in order to point out how odd and unlikely their situation was.

"....But I guess we don't have to if you don't like them. I don't wanna make you uncomfortable or something. "

“YOU!” She points at him from across the crowded boardwalk, “You ran away from me! What’s your deal, man?”

This is like the worse situation for him to be in right about now. His whole thing is being unseen and blending into the crown.

And you can't exactly do that when someone is pointing at you and then shouting.

Orion sputters for a moment, his eyes widen, as some people nearby stared at him. This causes him to then turn around and run.

“Whoa!” Rowan breaks out into a run to follow him, darting through the crowd, “Hey! Wait! You can’t just leave me hanging like that!”

He whimpers, wanting to completely run and hide away.

The young man didn't wish to have so many eyes on him, it made him feel deep shame and flash back to a past he'd rather forget.

“Fuck…” Rowan watched him from afar, “I’m sorry, I just…I just wanna talk! I work at the record store, so, um…meet me there? I can close early tonight.”

Orion doesn't want to go. But...perhaps meeting with her is the only way she'll stop confronting him out in public like this.

So, perhaps against his better judgment...he stands outside the record store a few hours later.

He's simply staying underneath the shade of a nearby palm tree as he didn't want to extra attention to himself.

Rowan is surprised to see him outside. After the whole debacle on the boardwalk, she didn’t think he’d show. She flipped the sign on the door to closed and opened it, poking her head out, “Hey.”

She stood there for an awkward moment before speaking again, “Sorry about the, uh…I just feel like I maybe saw something I didn’t understand.”

A slight frown. His eyes staring at Rowan as she finally walked out and came to talk to him. They're the usual dark brown again.

"There's a few different ways to do that without drawing so much attention to the two of us. You might as well be holding up a neon sign reading 'I'M A WITCH AND SO IS HE!' while screaming..."

A soft scoff, before walking forward.

"See what, exactly?"

Rowan slightly rolled her eyes, “I don’t know if it was that obvious. People scream about crazy things on the boardwalk all the time…” she gave a non-committal shrug before fully stepping outside, locking the door to the record store and leaning back against the glass.

“It was…well your eyes sort of changed colors.” Her confidence wavered, “I’ve never met a witch who could do that. I’ve met some…other people who can do that, but not…”

"...You mean, this?"

He gets closer to Rowan, his eyes shifting to the amber color for a brief moment as a ball of light appears in his hands.

"It happens whenever I cast my magic. It's not a big deal."

As soon as the ball of light disappears, so does the bright and unnatural color of his eyes with it.

"That's what you saw...right?"

Her eyes widen momentarily and she nods. “Yeah, that’s what I saw.”

While the light was gone, she could still sense the fading energy, “That happens whenever you cast? I can see why you keep so low key…I mean- sorry. I don’t mean to be rude, but…why? Why does that happen?”

"I don't know. It doesn't matter, does it? I'm trying to get rid of my magic anyhow...."

He pointed to the two long tattoos on his forearms. Both being three big sealing circles on top of eachother.

"...It's just...difficult to get rid of it all, I guess..."

She steps forward to take a better look at the tattoos. “You’re trying to get rid of it?” Rowan frowned, “I didn’t even know that was possible…I’ve never seen anyone with sealing circle tattoos either…”

His eyes widen slightly. Orion is a little surprised by the other's reaction. He's not really used to someone being upset on his behalf.

He puts his hands out, trying his best to calm him down.

"Hey...it's...fine. I'm okay now..."

He struggles, as this is the first time he's dealing with this and trying to comfort someone else about his own past.

"don't lie to me. They tried to kill you- for what? Just because they thought they were a big hard cult?" His protective instincts are screaming inside Marko to hunt down and kill every last one of them

But he sees Orion struggling and pushes all his anger into sadness, letting it out through tears "I don't- no, they hurt you so bad-"

All of this was new territory for him. So, he just tries to mimic what Marko did for him the night before and also be extremely supportive.

"Hey....But I'm okay now. I'm not home about to die...I'm here with you. In Santa Carla..."

He tries his own grounding exercises, but of course tweaking them for this case.

Marko moves into Orions lap, and wraps all his limbs around the boy, sobbing into his neck "why are you acting like it's not a big deal! It IS a big deal-"

He tries to say something else, not understanding how Orion is acting so calm about the situation, but all he can get out is a small plea "you have to stay here-"

Orion is just kinda used to being numb to his past. Especially since in these six escaping the cult into the real world.

"I...I don't know. I really wanted to find out what happened to my mom. But, I guess a small part of me already knew she was gone..."

He rubs the back of his neck with a free hand, but gently runs a hand through Marko's locks.

"...I guess I could stick around."

Marko squeezes him tighter, going beyond the strength a human of his size would have, but his tears slow down "you're gonna stay here where I can keep you safe" it's not a question

A small gulp. He might've gotten into a situation he didn't exactly expect.

"...No. I won't..."

He decided to confirm it, as it's better then argue. Especially with him being emotional and obviously stronger than him.

"thank you" he sniffles, once more composed. He leaves little kisses up the other side of Orions neck, up his jaw "if they ever come looking for you I'll kill them all" Markos voice just above a whisper

"...I don't think they'll come for me, If that's any consolation. I've been moving and hiding my tracks relatively well..."

Orion whispered back, simply trying to reassure him. He looks down before blushing and looking back up.

"You're uh...still naked by the way..."

"and? Are you bothered? You were face first in my cunt a couple hours ago but this is where you draw the line?" The response comes naturally, but he pauses after a moment and when he next speaks his voice is soft "I can out something on if you want-"

His blush worsened at this, but he gives a tiny chuckle.

"I'm sorry. You don't have to. I just wanted to let you know..."

He nods "alright.."

His anger from earlier lingers, but the sun is taking it out of him; as well as softening himself wanting to please Orion. Markos head falls against Orions shoulder gently "how's the blood?"

"Mhn. Bad. But it's okay. I'm used to it. My blood clots are usually pretty bad the 2nd day..."

A soft shurg, wincing as a wave of pain moves up his spine.

"I'll take some pain pills in a second..."

He hisses out.

".. chewy" he gets up off the bed and goes to get Orion some water. When he stumbles back Marko gets the other boy to lay down so he can lay on top of him again

All of this was new territory for him. So, he just tries to mimic what Marko did for him the night before and also be extremely supportive.

“YOU!” She points at him from across the crowded boardwalk, “You ran away from me! What’s your deal, man?”

This is like the worse situation for him to be in right about now. His whole thing is being unseen and blending into the crown.

And you can't exactly do that when someone is pointing at you and then shouting.

Orion sputters for a moment, his eyes widen, as some people nearby stared at him. This causes him to then turn around and run.

“Whoa!” Rowan breaks out into a run to follow him, darting through the crowd, “Hey! Wait! You can’t just leave me hanging like that!”

He whimpers, wanting to completely run and hide away.

The young man didn't wish to have so many eyes on him, it made him feel deep shame and flash back to a past he'd rather forget.

“Fuck…” Rowan watched him from afar, “I’m sorry, I just…I just wanna talk! I work at the record store, so, um…meet me there? I can close early tonight.”

Orion doesn't want to go. But...perhaps meeting with her is the only way she'll stop confronting him out in public like this.

So, perhaps against his better judgment...he stands outside the record store a few hours later.

He's simply staying underneath the shade of a nearby palm tree as he didn't want to extra attention to himself.

Rowan is surprised to see him outside. After the whole debacle on the boardwalk, she didn’t think he’d show. She flipped the sign on the door to closed and opened it, poking her head out, “Hey.”

She stood there for an awkward moment before speaking again, “Sorry about the, uh…I just feel like I maybe saw something I didn’t understand.”

A slight frown. His eyes staring at Rowan as she finally walked out and came to talk to him. They're the usual dark brown again.

"There's a few different ways to do that without drawing so much attention to the two of us. You might as well be holding up a neon sign reading 'I'M A WITCH AND SO IS HE!' while screaming..."

A soft scoff, before walking forward.

"See what, exactly?"

Rowan slightly rolled her eyes, “I don’t know if it was that obvious. People scream about crazy things on the boardwalk all the time…” she gave a non-committal shrug before fully stepping outside, locking the door to the record store and leaning back against the glass.

“It was…well your eyes sort of changed colors.” Her confidence wavered, “I’ve never met a witch who could do that. I’ve met some…other people who can do that, but not…”

"...You mean, this?"

He gets closer to Rowan, his eyes shifting to the amber color for a brief moment as a ball of light appears in his hands.

"It happens whenever I cast my magic. It's not a big deal."

As soon as the ball of light disappears, so does the bright and unnatural color of his eyes with it.

"That's what you saw...right?"

Her eyes widen momentarily and she nods. “Yeah, that’s what I saw.”

While the light was gone, she could still sense the fading energy, “That happens whenever you cast? I can see why you keep so low key…I mean- sorry. I don’t mean to be rude, but…why? Why does that happen?”

His eyes widen slightly. Orion is a little surprised by the other's reaction. He's not really used to someone being upset on his behalf.

He puts his hands out, trying his best to calm him down.

"Hey...it's...fine. I'm okay now..."

He struggles, as this is the first time he's dealing with this and trying to comfort someone else about his own past.

Usually Marko would sleep all day without issue, but being horizontal rather than vertical means he's more likely to wake up. Change absence of the other boy as well as the sounds coming from the bathroom wake him up

He rolls into his back with a groan, exhausted

Orion is done in about five, dressed in a pair black shorts, and dark grey briefs underneath.

His eyes widen as he sees Marko awake.

"Hehehe. Sorry. I tried to be as quiet as possible...You good?"

Marko lifts his head, eyes bleary "yeah- hm. You?"

He blinks a few times and smiles when he sees Orion "pretty-"

A soft blush.

"It's only 4:30. Sunset is in a few hours...I guess we slept most of the day away. Thankfully, in your case..."

He pointed to a clock on the wall, before adjusting his shorts and joining him on the bed.

"...is it...hard being up during the daylight hours...?"

Marko rolls over so his body is draped across Orion "yeah- usually ain't this bad in the cave but the sun is closer"

He burrys his face in the other mans thighs, it smells good

Orion blushes, gently looking away as Marko seemingly got bold enough to just brazenly sniff him in such a fashion.

"Uh...so what was it like being stuck as a girl...back in the day...?"

He asks lightly, trying to get his attention away from his lap.

"huh? Oh- it fucking sucked. Mum wanted me to clean and cook and wear dresses and dad wanted me to shut up and obey and be as small as possible"

Almost on command he shifts position slightly, taking up as much space on the bed as he can

"don't even get me fucking started on the others- couldn't play, couldn't do anything. Just expected to wait and pop out a kid as early as possible" his voice strains but it's not because of the sun

"...That sounds like it sucks. Even though I was a girl...they always kinda underestimated me. So...I...pushed myself..."

A soft frown, pointing to the scars on his chest again and some of the other's on his arms and other body parts.

"...I constantly had to prove myself for something I couldn't even control. Hell, I was constantly one of the strongest magican amongst them, and yet I could never get proper recognition. It was always 'you got lucky' and never 'congratulations.'

He looks away, gently running a hand over the other's hair.

He leans into the touch but never lifts his face from the thigh pillow

"I get that- instead of magic I tried fighting my dad back. Never worked, just made me feel more shit" he yawn, wide and mewling like a cat "but not anymore, now I can win"

"I'm sorry you hurt yourself with your magician stuff, and that they never appreciated how powerful you are"

He rubs his hands into the bed. Not wanting to say it directly.

"...I remembered seeing a postcard once. I focused on it before they could stab me with that ceremonial dagger. I was found a few hours later in the middle of Massachusetts on Halloween night."

A pause. Marko already knows so much about him, he might as well tell his full story to someone...

"They thought I was just some underage party-goer in an odd costume. Then when no one picked me up in the morning, they had me as a 'living' Jane doe."

A sigh, then leaning up against the headboard of the hotel bed as he continued.

"...They tried to shuffle me from home to home, but no one really wanted a mystery kid with tons of baggage...so no one ever really kept me for long. I went to an alternative school, graduated early...and then decided to look for my mom. So I worked. And saved money to travel. Studied too..."
