Seabed study expands Australian climate knowledge to past 50m years
This week was a test.
This week I thought I’d get a head start on my OU module which officially starts on the 3rd of October. The module (Environment: Journeys through a changing world) is my first towards an Open degree, which I hope to complete by the time I am 40. So test week was an eye opener. I always knew managing a part time course alongside a full time job was going to be a big ask for me; a notorious lazy bones! The week started well, I got a lot of reading in on Tuesday night. The rest of the week was decidedly less of a success though. On Wednesday evening for example after a full day at work, a cycle home, a shower, getting my shit together for the next day cooking & then eating tea I started my studies.. Within half an hour I’d fallen asleep! Noooo! The rest of the week didn’t fair much better. How do people do this with children in the mix? What I have learned from test week: evenings may not be the best time for me to study. I had hoped I’d keep my weekends relatively free, but I think that might be a bit too much of an ask. Oh well! This hasn’t put me off however, I just need to discover what works best for me and perservere. Are you studying part time whilst working full time? Do you have any tips for a newbie like me?
