Of course. Rolls. She had forgotten the rolls, and spilt water all over the HOT officer. Today started off so well, and now, well…did she really need to say how it was going now? “Way to go girl.” Taylor teased loudly from the kitchen, “Here’s the sticks.”
“Thanks.” she muttered out softly as she grabbed hold of them and spun round to head back towards the booth…only the officer that was sitting there was smack dab right in front of her, and she had almost run right into him. “Oh..” she breathed a small frown forming on her face, “Hey…” Her free hand reached out to gently touch his arm, but stopped short, “I’m sorry about the water…I..you make me a bit nervous.” The confession made her eyes go wide and her cheeks turn pink, “I mean…I’ll shut up now and let you go clean up…”
At this point, nothing was going right so it didn’t surprise him much when he almost bumped right into the waitress. “Hi.” His reply was short and sweet. Probably for the best. He was bound to fuck something up before it even started. “It’s okay. Wait.. What?” What did she mean he made her nervous? How did he make her nervous?
“If it makes you feel better, I’ve been staring at you this whole time.” Ryan quietly exclaimed, rubbing the back of his head. “Anyways, I should probably get cleaned up.”

With a deep breath Dani started back towards their table, all their drinks place neatly on the tray she was carrying. Once she approached the table, she felt a surge of relief course through her. YES! She made it without any drink casualties. “The cheese sticks are coming right up.” she chirped happily as she passed the drinks out, saving the water for last.
“It really is a shame you didn’t want a shake.” she started, her voice a little uneasy, but not too noticeable. “I like to think I make the best shake in the county.” Reaching over she placed the drink onto the table….only…it didn’t stay on the table very long, her clumsy hands knocked it over as she pulled them away…and it landed directly in his lap.
Her face quickly turned red as she fumbled awkwardly in her apron to pull out napkins, “Oh my god, oh my god…” Dani cried as napkins fell to the floor and she placed some on his lap, “I am so…” As she realized she was basically fondling his lap, her face turned an even brighter shade of red, and she quickly mumbled an apology and skated hastily away..She could hear Taylor howling in the kitchen with laughter…
The guys were exchanging words about different things. How they were starving. What they were starving for. And how Ryan’s day was going which was absolutely terrible. But hopefully things would look up. Seeing the waitress certainly brightened his day to a degree. His eyes looked up when the waitress’s skates were moving across the floor towards their table.
They nodded their head at the mention of the sticks. ‘What about rolls?’ Obviously, they were impatient. Or at least some of them. She saved the best for last right? That was the thought that came into Ryan’s head. It was hopeful but that probably wasn’t the reason. “Do you have strawberry shakes?” As soon as those words left his lips, the water collapsed into his lap. The cold water seeping through his pants and underwear. It was a very unpleasant feeling. Before he could react, he realized that there was soft hands patting napkins onto his now wet pants. “It’s okay really. You don’t need to do that.” He reached for her hands but they were already gone and so was she.
A sigh left his lips as he stood up from the booth. His eyes glanced around the diner looking for the restroom. Finally he spotted it, and he moved towards it. As he left his table in the distance, he could hear them laughing.

The inappropriate joke only caused her cheeks to grew even redder, her ears even began to turn a pink shade. She chuckled lightly as she tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ears. She jotted down the drinks, her eyes watching the letters be drawn by her pen, only to look back up when she heard him speak. “Just water?” she asked a little shocked at his request. “I mean, you wouldn’t like a milkshake? We have some of the best shakes in town.” She smiled and nodded, “Sure…mozzarella sticks coming right up.”
She pulled her eyes from him and turned to head back towards the kitchen to place their order. “Told you they couldn’t take their eyes off you.” Dani shook off her friend’s comment and peeked over her shoulder at Ryan, “They were just being nice..having fun..”
“Riiight.” Taylor dragged out..
“Just fix their mozzerella sticks.”
“You got it boss.” The friend laughed as Dani began fixing the drinks up. Internally praying that she would not make a mess.
A milkshake didn’t sound terrible. But it was probably for the best if he just want the mozzarella sticks. And the water. “A milkshake sounds good but I think we will just stick with water.”
He watched her skate off towards the kitchen. ‘Alright who calls dibs?’ Ryan could hear one of the friends say. Once again, Ryan rolled his eyes. The cops fought over the waitress. “She isn’t something to call dibs on.” His voice sounded harsh. It was no surprise that Ryan’s comment caused even more of a ruckus. The friends were saying things like Ryan obviously calls dibs. Maybe he will be her knight in shining armor. Save her from this shit diner and shit town.
“Maybe.” Ryan mumbled as he stared off in the distance. His mind filling with thoughts.
UnluckyLady: so...
UnluckyLady: are you still live?

Dani was clumsy even on a good occasion, so to say she was clumsy wearing skates would be a very big understatement. It was a fairly recent change that the new manager instated at the restaurant, but if she was honest, it didn’t matter how much experience she had wearing them…she would never feel completely comfortable in them.
The bell to the door rang out as a group of cops entered the diner, the red head was postitioned by the kitchen window, her bright red hair pulled up into a messy bun atop of head. “They are at your table.” Taylor commented from the other side of the window, “And it seems like they can’t take their eyes off you.”
“Hush…no they are not.” she started as she turned around to look back at her table. her eyes locking with one of the cops as she suddenly found herself falling towards the floor. Miraculously, Dani caught herself before her face made friends with the tile. “Smooth.” Taylor hollared.
Dani’s face quickly turned a bright red hue as she carefully glided to the table, her eyes looking down at the floor until she got to the table. “Haha…sorry guys, Im still getting used to these wheels.” She looked at Ryan, her face still red from embarrassment as she bit down on her bottom lip, “Uh…so my name is Dani. I;ll be your server tonight. Can I start you guys off with any drinks?” Her eyes tore away from him to loook around at the others.
When the waitress fell, the group of cops stifled their laughs but Ryan kept his eyes on the girl. He knew it was weird but he couldn’t pry his eyes from her. Hopefully he wasn’t freaking her out.
When she grew closer to the table, he finally glanced down at the menu. He listened to her words but didn’t look back up even though he was dying to. One of the cops made an inappropriate joke. Ryan rolled his eyes. They went around the table telling her what drinks they wanted. When it was finally Ryan’s turn, he glanced up to meet her gaze. The corners of his lips pulled and tugged wanting to curl into a smile. “I’d like some water.” His smile disappeared when her eyes tore away from his. “Could we also get some mozzarella sticks?”
His group of coworkers entered the diner, Ryan slacked behind. His eyes were glued to his cellphone. A hand slapped him on his shoulder. ‘Cheer up’,one of his friends told him. Shrugging the hand off of his shoulder, he pointed over at a table. “Let’s just sit down and get some grub.” He exclaimed annoyed with his friend.
The group moved towards the booth and all slid in. They began to talk among themselves while his eyes browsed the menu. There wasn’t anything he really wanted. Maybe a burger and a milkshake? Strawberry shake? Sounds good. An elbow poked into his side. The fellow cop beside him motioned towards one of the waitresses.
The waitress stuck out like a sore thumb. The color of her hair drew you in. Like how the sound of sirens drew in sailors. Or it at least felt that way for Ryan. It was difficult to take his eyes off of her.
