I suppose an updated introduction post is in order, so here goes!

I go by M in most fandom spaces. I'm a 31-year-old bisexual woman from Indonesia, somewhat unfortunately staying deep in the closet IRL due to numerous factors. That being said, this is where I go crazy and just enjoy being gay 💕

I got into fanfiction at about 13 and saw it as an outlet to learn English, and it's now an integral hobby that never fails to make me feel so alive. I write mostly for Pluribus these days, though I have also written for ER and Star Trek (specifically The Next Generation and Voyager). I write fic almost exclusively in English, though I hope I can eventually write more in Indonesian!

It's my biological imperative to never shut up about Abdul Kareem Alsharei, muezzin extraordinarie and cat guy from Aden in Yemen, so I made a mood board inspired by Hasten to Salvation. The image in the centre is the exact chapter in the Quran featured in the fic, and one that I always have a soft spot on precisely because I struggled to memorise it as a kid and somehow succeeded anyway and can still recite it from memory decades later.

No other show has made me reassess and consider my relationship with the faith I was raised in as much as Pluribus, all because of a character that has only been mentioned once in the whole series so far, and alhamdulillah for that.

I love the library 🫶 public libraries r actually the best thing ever ?? Like?? Free books and cds and dvds and resources and computers and study space and quiet ??

Was gonna complain about how blockbuster and other dvd rental stores don't exist anymore but then !! I remembered !! that often public libraries have DVD catalogues you can borrow!! And it's free!! More movie nights where you go to the library to pick out the movie instead of scrolling streaming services pls.

fandoms would be a lot more peaceful if more people told themselves “okay but it’s fiction and it doesn’t affect me or anybody in real life in any way, shape or form, and I can just block, mute, scroll past it as I please” every time they saw something they didn’t like on the internet
