hello tumblr, here is Katgaten art I have yet to grace you with

first ones just a doodle and second one is an oldie I never finished. ive just been thinking about them a lot recently, its a ship I always circled back to at the end of the day.

tbh i also had a "whateverrr generic white guy" attitude towards garen until I read his story where he said the witch was called "The Lady of the Stones" instead of "rock hag" (which is what she was really being called) because he believed being honest would be rude. Like. That is such good nod to the entire point of his character. he would rather live a pretty lie than face an ugly truth but out of honest, good intentions.

usually the character trait of being a liar is because they're manipulative or spoiled or ambitious but garen is just. genuinely devoted to being noble, polite & true to demacian ideals. it's an interesting twist of the archetype to me & I think kat will be the catalyst to him finally accepting his country for what it is (& vice-versa for kat w/noxus) because it certainly isn't going to be lux at this rate
