Rainy walk to my local pho spot after work, I dragged my feet from exhaustion from standing all day but I felt content. Carrying my umbrella seeing those around me doing the same. I am never alone. In the restaurant I was sitting in between two couples, one of them was carrying a conversation. While the other sat in complete silence, I found both of those to be necessary and beautiful. I haven’t gone out by myself to eat in a while, but it was calming… just quietly eating my soup with a ravenous stomach. On my walk back home I admired the puddles on the ground and the dimly lit restaurants keeping people warm. This spring feels very hopeful. I feel thankful to be alive.
