i love how both jess and rory (yes, rory, too!) had communication problems with each other as teenagers (shocking!!! that teenagers might not communicate… at all, let alone in a healthy way. it’s almost like… they’re teenagers. wow!) and especially jess considering his troubled background (which people refuse to sympathize with at all lol) and somehow that’s supposed to be some huge mark against their relationship and make jess completely irredeemable. even though that all happened when they were teenagers. and meanwhile by the time the show proper ended, they were in their 20s and that wasn’t an issue anymore as jess especially had done a lot of growing up and became a much more mature, responsible person. and by the time of ayitl, they were in their 30s (and jess by far was the most well adjusted adult in the entire show). but somehow we’re still bringing up problems in their relationship. when they were teenagers.
