...but if the finale is 'just' a clip show, then by that logic, isn't the trial episode also essentially just a clip show lol. because the majority of it, like the finale, is basically just going over the same information the audience already knows with only some of it reframed to give newer context and meaning.
Season 3, Episode 7 "The Failures" THE VAMPIRE LESTAT (2022–)

Versace - Spring 1996 RTW
one of the things i appreciated about the finale is how it reflected one of main themes of the vampire chronicles as a whole: this radical kind of empathy. these vampires all love each other. that's the only way they can endure eternity. even in all the many ways they hurt each other, it always goes back to that core of love and understanding. it applies to everyone. yes. even the evil one you hate right now. whether or not they deserve it is not the point. they are all monsters destined for hell. they will never deserve that kind of grace, but they get it anyway. that's the whole point. all these creatures abandoned by god to damnation, and the only consolation they have is each other.

i can understand complaints about wanting the show to do way, way more than what they did with gabriella's gender, but that people keep insisting that the show completely erased that facet of her character and literally didn't do anything with it at all.
like, people just straight up aren't even watching the show, right.
We've also never seen Gabriella outside of Lestat's presence.
The one time we see the aftermath of her abandoning him, she's left behind her hair, her jewels, and her gown.
In the books, on more than one occasion, she specifically feminizes herself for Lestat's benefit. Wears her hair long and puts on gowns, etc.
Because she is more overtly abusive and manipulative in the show, it would stand to reason that adapting that trait as a manipulation tactic would make sense in the show.
If they are planning to do multiple POVs in the show, then I think season 4, we're probably going to get a chance to see Gabriella outside of Lestat's presence, and I think she's probably going to present differently then.
I could be wrong, but I feel like they were practically spelling it out with all that stuff she left behind when she abandoned Lestat on the beach.
