More timeless truth from Anaïs Nin
I do believe you have a wound too. I do believe it is both specific to you and common to everyone. I do believe it is the thing about you that must be hidden and protected, it is the thing that must be tap danced over five shows a day, it is the thing that wonât be interesting to other people if revealed. It is the thing that makes you weak and pathetic. It is the thing that truly, truly, truly makes loving you impossible. It is your secret, even from yourself. But it is the thing that wants to live. It is the thing from which your art, your painting, your dance, your composition, your philosophical treatise, your screenplay is born.
-Charlie Kaufman
Acid Sweat Lodge is the coolest website in the world, if you're into burnouts, biker dudes, metal bands, and the topless women who love them. If that's not your thing, why are you here?
Peter Gowland - Nude with Flower, 1960s
Writing and reading decrease our sense of isolation. They deepen and widen and expand our sense of life: they feed the soul. When writers make us shake our heads with the exactness of their prose and their truths, and even make us laugh about ourselves or life, our buoyancy is restored. We are given a shot at dancing with, or at least clapping along with, the absurdity of life, instead of being squashed by it over and over again. Itâs like singing on a boat during a terrible storm at sea. You canât stop the raging storm, but singing can change the hearts and spirits of the people who are together on that ship.
- Anne Lamott
Network
"Information technology has become a ubiquitous presence. By visualizing the processes that underlie our interactions with this technology we can trace what happens to the information we feed into the network."
We have lingered in the chambers of the sea By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown Till human voices wake us, and we drown.
- The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
Hi there. I just received the artwork proof from you on my e-mail but I canât open it on my phone. Can you just describe to me what you did so I can tell you if I like it?

While I wish that our society was sophisticated enough to judge each person by their individual merits and qualities, rather than superficially grouping them and making premature assumptions, weâre simply not there yet. Actions speak louder than words, especially in trying to dispel stereotypes. To me, if we want to start permanently breaking down gender stereotypes, at least in advertising, the place to start seems to be among women.
- "Women, Support Women" by Emily Eldridge of The Agency PostÂ
Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here. Make. Good. Art.

Cocktail Hour: May 18, 2012
Itâs officially here: Facebook IPO Week. GM started off the Facebook announcements by stating that it would be pulling $10 million in paid advertising from the site, saying that the investment was ineffective in terms of sales. Many people wrote articles about being sick of hearing about Facebook. Unfortunately, readers proceeded to âLikeâ and âRecommendâ those articles thousands of times. Yahoo again showed us how not to succeed in the work world â donât cuss out everyone you meet and donât lie on your rĂ©sumĂ©. Twitter showed that it respects your privacy by working with Firefoxâs Do Not Track feature, and the worldâs first Wikipedia town â Monmouthpedia â was founded.

This is one of those ideas that will get more in terms of PR than it did in real engagement. I doubt that anyone actually used the mini metro but what it did do is generate a lot of chatter about the stunt so in that way it is a success.Â
Pocket-sized Metro.
To promote the mobile version of the Metro newspaper in Canada, advertising agency Rethink came up with the following campaign. Their idea was to set up a mini dispenser including QR Code, once scanned you were redirected to the app of the newspaper.
Insect Traps
An experimental animated short film by MRK.
ââInsect trapsâ explores the digital nature of organic molecules and biological organisms. Virtual insects are injected in closed simulated environments where they fight for their lives against larger than life biomolecular structures.â
